Pure black and dark head. Smells very roasted, cedar wood, smokey, lovely. Very thick and roasted, huge beer, complex wood flavour, the cedar really adds, long aftertaste, tons of grain. Epic beer. dmac (6497) - Toms River, New Jersey, USA - SEP 3, 2017
Crowler shared by Joey. Poured a medium to thicker body of deep oily black under a smaller dark mocha head. Aroma of chocolate malts, nutmeg, burnt toast, soy sauce, tobacco. Flavor is the same along with a bit of sugary sweetness. Sadly the Maple syrup is barely noticeable in the aroma and flavor, was hoping for a lot more. Medium body, average carbonation. cheap (6125) - Beaver Valley, Beaver County, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 24, 2016
Tap patricks. I’m not a fan of imperial stout but I thought I’d give this a try. Big sweet nose. Black. Nice lacing. Bitter medicine from the start. Difficult smooth and lingering. You’d never know this was 14%, its quite mild for that rating. Only just borders on impy stout status, more like a stronger dry stout. MaBeer1972 (2184) - Reno, Nevada, USA - DEC 11, 2016
On tap at Khyber Pass in Philly. Served in a small snifter. I let it warm a bit. Deep dark malts. Interesting spicy woody notes. Cedar is unique. Maple sweetness takes the edge off. An unusual experiment. italianjohn (3281) - Penndel, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 9, 2016

Sampled on draft at Tapped this beer poured a black color with a medium sized foamy brown head that lingered and left decent lacing. The aroma was roasty and a bit smoky with a floral hop note. The flavor was roasty and smoky with wood and faint notes of red wine and floral hops. Medium length finish. Moderately full bodied. Alcohol well contained. Ok.

UPDATED: JUL 5, 2017 Opaque black with a small, tan head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of roasted malts, dark chocolate, maple, spice and dark fruits. Taste of roasted malts, dark chocolate, nutmeg, maple, dry cedar tannins in the finish. katrinaez (2307) - norristown, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 25, 2016
Aroma has boozy and light spiced roasted malts. Color is rich black with minimal dark tan head. Taste starts with nutmeg spice and smooth imperial thickness. Woodsy flavors sink in at the end and coat the tongue. Well done. Tap Leafs93 (2343) - Clarks Summit, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 23, 2016
Pours deep dark oily black with a trace mocha head. Aroma is roast, espresso, dark chocolate and maple syrup. Taste is sweet with some acrid bitterness, but mostly sweet and delicious! Medium bodied with an oily and smooth texture. Drinks easy for being up over 13% with no noticeable alcohol coming through. This was an excellent offering from Sole. bth122 (1678) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 20, 2016
Draft at HOTB. Black as night color with frothy head. Roasted malt, slight liquid smoke flavor, wood, bacon, brown sugar. Warming alcohol. A sipping beer. Heavy body. Thick texture. Pretty good.
