Our full-bodied stout with milk sugar. The piney and orange citrus hops find themselves paired with roasted, coffee, and dark chocolate balance. Werd.

Draft. Dark brown with a tan head that quickly dissipated. Aroma of coffee, pine and citrus. Not what I expected from a milk stout.medium bodied with a astringent mouth feel.

On draft, this was a beautiful beer, dark w/ a huge and long lasting head. Beyond that, this is a pretty decent American stout. Its a touch sweet and creamy w/ a strong American hop presence. It finishes w/ firm bitterness and an unfortunate ashy/acrid overtone. Its not bad enough to ruin things but it notches this down from a very good beer to one thats only okay.

Bomber. Pours a stouty brownish-black with a mocha colored head with very little retention. Nose is funky, but not in a Belgian farmhouse way... this is more like smoke and old cows. Mouth is thin for a stout, lightly bitter, some smoke, roasted barley, and dead grass. None of the characteristics of a milk stout. Fucking awful. Im really starting to hate Solemn Oath.

Bomber from Antioch cellared for a couple of months. Black pour with a tan, "root beer float" head leaving a ton of circular lace. Aroma has chocolate, some black malts, pine, light citrus and some roast. Taste is of sweet caramelly malts, some roast, some citrus, cocoa and a light bitter black patent malt presence. Black IPA-ish, in the mouth, to the positive. Finishes more bitter than sweet on that bitter-sweet scale, but roasty leads, and that is good too. Wow! Surprised. Likely in line with SOaths best stuff. (2 parts Grumpess plus 1 part Kidnapped = this???) 15.3

22 oz bottle from trader Joes. Giant tan head which stays four a long time. Smells really good, hoppy with caramel and molasses. Not too much going on from a flavor perspective, it is understated. Some hop kick. Good, would drink again.

Aroma is yeast, candy/sugar and a hint of dark malts. The flavor is dark malts, chocolate, candy/sugar and fruit/citrus/acidity in the finish. Noticeable hops in a milk stout is interesting but not something Ill have again, it just doesnt work well in the style.

Bottled: This stout is hopped forward with piney and citric overtones along with moderate roast and mocha. Some lacto notes but much more reserved that the last beer, likely caused by the abundance of bitterness. I like but it is damn close to being a Black IPA plus some "pickle" notes start to show as it warms.

A perfect american milk stout. Just the right balance of coffee, milk, and bitterness. Smells like coffee and pours black with a sticky tan head. Really crisp and crushable. Love this one ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
