4oz draft at brewery 8/10/12-Pours a slightly hazy amberish golden with a small covering white head. Aroma of citrus, hops, and more citrus. Taste of citrus, hops, and more citrus. This medium bodied brew is way citrusy but in a good way. Very tasty.

Draft at Maproom. Awesomesauce. I never have never said that before (not just about beer, but in general I’ve never said that). Well done my friends, so flavorful and yet not offensive, i.e. bitterness in check, no hop cheesiness. Incredibly approachable west coast IPA. Citrus is well balanced where no one flavor dominates, great pineapple orange combo. Dry, light, bit too much carb but this is out of the keg. Winning. [half way through my pint... man this beer is really, really good, exceptionally clean]

Tap @ The Beer Bistro on IPA Day and served in standard pint glass: Hazy golden hue with a lovely frothy head and very good lace. The aroma has notes of pine, grapefruit, mango, apricot, slight herbs and flowers, biscuity malt and some "damp clothes". The taste is very well balanced, smooth opening bitterness countered by light to moderate fruitiness and mild malt presence. Slight hop spice character to the finish. The mouth feel displays a moderate body and carbonation, slightly minerally and metallic finish. A solid brew but not anything special. Would drink again if given the opportunity.

On draft at brewey, poured a nice hazy golden color aromas of fresh cut pineapple, mango, and more tropical fruits. Flavors are the same with a litght bitterness in the aftertaste, this was a surprising find in my book, really great, and refreshing beer. TheAlum (7164) - Aurora, Illinois, USA - JUL 26, 2012
Draft on tap at the Solemn Oath Taproom (Naperville, IL). Pours a rich hazed golden amber pour, gentle glow and some fiery sunny bottom and edges with a deeper dulled middle. Cakey offwhite head is a good bigger size, dies down to a good thick layer, laces well. Sticks around well. Aromas are a fresh lively knockout of juicy citrus, a big dose of grapefruit, lemons, and oranges mix with kicks of tropical fruit, florals, and more tangerine. Touches of bready malts, soap, and gentle crisp cereal grains. Really, this thing is a fresh and vibrant hop dose. Initial is lighter end of medium bodied preaching a big bitterness to kick off the experience. Bitter pine and florals kick the palate with some juicy citrusy grapefruit, lemons, and oranges kicking things off past that. Juicy hops, kicks of tropical fruit, bubblegum and gentle toasty and bready malt elements. Firm bigger bitterness hangs on through the middle and into the finish, soapy and dry with firm florals, bitter resinous pine. Touches of grapefruit juice really flood the palate into the middle and backend. Sweetness stays away as this lighter bodied overall and very dry IPA really amps up the fresh hop profile. Bitter, lively, and fresh. More flavoring hops could up the complexity a bit, but overall this is a great summer IPA that is fresh, certainly doesn’t skimp on the hops, and is quite enjoyable. It does what it is supposed to, hops, fresh, quite drinkable with a light body, rich bitterness, grapefruit and pine, dryness throughout. Pretty good, big grapefruit juice element. pantanap (3367) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - JUL 26, 2012
growler courtesy of our good friend tom - less than 5 days old... opening with a small his, the pour yields somewhat hazy, mildly transparent, pale orange tinted brown and topped with a rather significant soapy white head that slowly reduces down in size... citrusy orange and tangerine focused effervescent perfumey aroma, bright and assertive and nature. semi-sweet with a smaller malt backbone. some tropical fruit sweetness but more citrusy, at least for me. a slight tinge of herbalness surfaces late.. flavors more or less follow suit in a postive manner. assertive semi-sweet citrus and orange upfront, biscuit malt present but taking a backseat to the aforementioned. a mild but tamed controlled bitterness exists on the backend. medium bodied with a somewhat fluffy mouthfeel that cuts into the bitterness. grapefruit rind pithiness further exists... first chance at a solemn oath beer and hopefully one of many more to come. 64 oz. growler and sampled from a nonic at the brewery. OK OK OK. I think everything I’ve had from Solemn Oath thus far has been fantastic. However, this might be Solemn Oath’s introduction to the upper tier of local brewers. Aroma of citrus, mango, and pineapple. Some grapefruit and tangerine. Strong hops. Apparent pine. Flavor is very bitter, strong fruitiness. Notes of mango, pineapple, strong grapefruit and citrus. Semi dry, with a touch of malt sweetness that actually adds to the fruit bomb that is this beer. Mild orange peel towards the back of the throat. Some passion fruit, some berries, lots of tropical fruit. Wow. What an IPA.
