Bomber pours a clear copper color with practically no head and no lacing at all. Aroma is pungent, with ripe apricots, caramel, some overripe tropical fruits and brown sugar. Taste is sweet with some hoppy bitterness and lots of alcohol in the finish. Body is medium to full with noticeable carbonation and a sticky, syrupy mouthfeel. This may be the only American barleywine which reminds me of a high ABV Eastern European "Triple Bock", but not nearly as offensive. If Solemn Oath called this a Triple Bock, it would be at or near the top of its class. rodenbach99 (4572) - Longueuil, Quebec, CANADA - MAY 2, 2016

Comment: EBF 2016.
EBF 2016. Pours a clear strong golden with a medium bubbly white head that leaves some lacing. Nose is of caramel, slight alcohol but not too much. Taste is sugary, barleywine-ish and not too boozy. Mostly caramel. Medium body, medium carbonation and again not too boozy. I thought it was good (starting to doubt myself, though, seeing the other ratings) but not a game changer, maybe I need to rerate. Minderbinder (3469) - Québec, Quebec, CANADA - FEB 16, 2016
Pours golden with low off-white head. Aroma is of malts (forgettable). Taste is of very strong alcohol, malt. Palate: Full bodied. Soft carbonation. Burning alcohol. Overall: Not for me. czar (9172) - Québec, Quebec, CANADA - FEB 15, 2016
tap at EBF 2016. unclear bright golden with a nice off-white cap offering minimal retention and alcing. boozy dried fruits - golden raisins; extremely boozy - piney tingling; lots of barley sweetness and jam; pine needles, clean yeast. moderate carbonation, medium to full body - thick; boozy and cloying spicy finish. plain sugars and way too hot. blah.

DuffMan (10451) - the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, CANADA - OCT 27, 2015
Bottle, shared at game night. Tawny orange-amber, low light gold head. Sweet fruity toffee aroma with boozy undertones. Toffee, red licorice, candied orange, hot alcohol comes in late. I liked it, but it’s pretty boozy and sweet. raoul_duke (240) - - AUG 17, 2015
Really bready, lots of yeast and booze. Perhaps some Belgian spice. Red amber coloration. Not much head at all. This tastes a lot like whiskey. No head no carbonation. For a barley wine, I like it. Very syrupy. PartyFowle (954) - - AUG 15, 2015
Bottle. Mostly clear mahogany hue with a dense head of tan fuzz. Aroma’s very nice: toffee, raisins, maple, milk chocolate. Sugary. Bitterness balances the sugars in the flavor, which displays notes of grapefruit peel, brandy, oranges and molasses before a toasted rye finish. Silky medium-light body; soft tingly CO2. Thanks to Joel for the bomber! Poured a lovely shade of clear, fiery orange with a sticky beige head. The aroma picked up sweet caramel and honey with accents of cinnamon and medium-skinned fruits. The flavor found similar malts at the core, picking up some tasty orange meat.. bitter fruity notes and spices around.. finished spicy with some tasty residual sugars and belly warmth. Medium-plus bodied with a good feel and flow through the palate.. spicy and engaging.. great brew!
