Not a bad beer. Nice banan notes, it is light and refreshing, a good biergarten beer.

UPDATED: DEC 30, 2013 Tap at Haymarket in Chicago. Hazy bright yellow pour with a really nice white clingy head. Wheat, mild banana, and light citrus in this, but it hits a little flat on the tongue.

Draft on tap at the brewery (Naperville, IL). 2nd new offering of the day. Pours a rich hazy dulled yellow gold hue. Touches of washed out orange with a deep murky golden dulled hue. A frothy offwhite almost eggshell white head sits atop, dies to a film and laces ok. Sticks around as a firm film. Aromas are a clash of fruity esters and cloves mixing with a rich floral and citrusy hopping. Apple, banana, and pear with spicy cloves meet bready malts, wheat, and a firm lemony hopping, florals, and grass. Bitter fresh hop nose starts to take over. Touches of grapefruit, citrus rind and oils, and zest. Bready malts, fruity esters, dry earthy hops. Initial is medium bodied offering some dank earthy hops up front paired into bready malts, lemons, and touches of banana and pear. Touches of spice, dry earthy hops, gentle clove and a richer citrusy middle start to take over, grapefruit juice, zest. Middle and backend really grow on me, with flavors growing, good balance especially interesting into middle and finish which really win me over and the hops really start to take over. Nose is ok, front end is a bit yeasty and Hefe driven as the hops take over into the middle and backend, that note of straight grapefruit juice is really enjoyable. Overall, a solid beer that gives some life into the middle and backend for hop heads. More Hefe driven than I expected.

On draft at brewery, poured a light cloudy yellow color, aromas of pineapple, banana, yeast, and some citrus. Flavors are the same with some light spice followed by hops inthe aftertaste, dont think I ever had hops taste like this in the aftertaste in a wheat beer, interesting, and unexpected.

A bit oxidized with some banana and clove. Backing hops and bitterness. Cardboard behind that. Clove spice in the background.

On tap at Brixies Bar & Grill in Brookfield, IL., and shaker served with a very murky, unfiltered orangy/golden color, a white sudsy head, and spotty lacing. Very yeasty up front, with fair malt, and assertive grapefruit & orange scent. Kind of a citrus soup with moderate, lingering, earthy hop bitterness. No banana or spice as clove to speak of, yet I noticed more clarity and weizen character from a sampling at Warrenville Rock Bottoms Popfest just a week before. Very young, agitated keg, or both?

Growler from the brewery. Pours a hazy reddish orange. Aroma of strong citrus hops, mangoes, peaches, and bubblegum. I get a touch of sunny delight, a bit of orange juice, some mild clove and hefe yeast. Flavor is bitter and hoppy, with a strong citrus hop rush couples with fruity and yeasty undertones. This reminds me a bit of New Glarus Imperial Weizen, but lower on the ABV. Medium bodied, finishes long and hoppy, nice spritzy carbonation. A great summer beer. This is on par with the best hoppy wheats around. Finishes fruity and refreshing.

4oz sample at brewery 8/10/12-Pours hazy yellowish golden with small white ring for head. Aroma of banana, cloves, and spices. Taste of the same with some hops. This light bodied brew is well balanced and goes down easy.

Draft at so, pours hazed golden yellow with white head. Aroma has a nice citrus orange peel kick with banana and subtle cloves. Really nice nose. Flavors have bitter tangerines and grapefruit rind, rather sharp metallic yeast character, prickly feel to it. Odd Hefeweizen yeast here comes off more Belgian perhaps its a blend, it started promising but the buttering hops and yeast combo is astringent, bitter, and metallic. I like a hoppy Hefeweizen but this needs a little work.
