Draft. A brown beer with a beige head. The aroma has notes of malt and caramel. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt and caramel, as well as lighter notes of fruit and butterscotch, leading to a bitter finish. kaser (6382) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - JUL 1, 2016
Had this as part of a flight at Solvang Brewery. Brown with a ton of white head. Brown sugar and malts, kind of sweet. Average Blairgus (4615) - California, USA - JUL 27, 2013
27 July 2013, tap at Solvang Brewing Co. Brown, clear, steady bubbles. Nose is sweet bread malt and possibly some soft/brown bananas. Thin body and fizzy. Toasty malt and some bitter chocolate finish, possibly some blue fruit notes. Ok.

The label at the brewery says this is their 1547 Porter but by notes read like a brown ale. Some roastiness, maybe a hint of coffee to the aroma. Pretty light red color for a porter. This is easily the nuttiest of all their beers with some coffee hanging around. Decent. eboats (1115) - Omaha, Nebraska, USA - SEP 9, 2012

Tap @ the brewcompany. Nice head with good duration. Color is dark brown. Aroma and taste are toasted malt, caramel, nuts and hops. Dry finish. Bartender told me that this was supposed to have been a porter and that is why the "coaster" said "1547 Porter", but they changed it to brown ale later as the beer menu lists it.
