COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
David and Robert both love bourbon. We mean love bourbon. Maybe thats why they didnt beat around the bush here. Sure, you can age subtly in bourbon barrels. And subtlety is sometimes enough. But, with the Anvil, the real spark ignited when we tossed nuance aside and added a healthy measure of our proprietary barrel-proof bourbon flavor. Suddenly, something intense, alive and memorable happened. To our palates, it offers a clean, lively, aromatic presence with a layered smoky finish. Its truly integrated and rounded, yet vitally distinct. Enjoy.

Bomber from Tiffanys- Nice golden color with reddish hints. Not much fizz. Leathery mustiness before a hint of appley cider notes. Sour, vinegary initial flavor with the spike of bourbon at the end. Not too pleasing, oily feel to the mouth.

Bottle from World Market. Decent cider. Mild sweetness with a bit of a creamy flavor in the finish. Not a bad sipper, but I really dont get the bourbon. Not bad, seems to be well balanced for a cider.

Apple, ivory soap, bourbon aroma. Clear amber, actually formed a head which I find unusual for a cider. Overripe apples, soapy overtones. Light body, easy carbonation. Not slick or oily, but flavor and aroma are distinctly of some kind of soap.

Bottle, thanks to Misterburd. Clear amber with frothy off-white small head, faint bourbon aroma, fizzy carbonation, lightly sweet taste, thin body, dry finish. Quite crisp and dry, bourbon flavor was not very noticeable.

Pours a clear dark straw body with lots of bubbles. The aroma is caramel, apples and wood. The taste is smoke, caramel and apples. The texture is crisp. The bourbon flavor is a nice addition.

brokensail (16222) - Dublin, California, USA - JAN 12, 2016
Bottle @ Home. Clear pale golden yellow with a light carbonation and some mild head formation. More just woody than a distinct bourbon aroma. Some apple skin, seltzer, and cheap white wine. The flavor has a bunch of caramel at first, but a ton of metallic, iron sort of flavor. Kind of rough. Some apple skins, chalk, and a bit of tart green grape.

Clear deep golden with a thin ring of rocky white foam. Lovely vanilla Apple aromas that give way to a pleasing and complex palate of crisp gala apples, vanilla, caramel, and a touch of sweet champagne grape. Nice complexity but still a bit more sweet than ciders need to be, like Woodchuck.
