Bomber from spark-diggity-dog! Thanks !... Poured into a sam adams lager glass. No head? Light orange in color. Aroma is light hops and malt. Intial taste was a little cinnamon. Minor touch of hops and malt. Light and crisp. Easy to drink, good example of what a pale ale should be. Thanks again E. AcctError65545 (1547) - Mesa, Arizona, USA - OCT 19, 2008
Spankin Fresh 22oz bottle. Glad t o see the boys at Sonoran bottling again.
Pours a golden caramel color with a nice white soapy head. Aroma of citrus, pine, malts, hops. Flavor is piney hops, a decent malt backbone, a touch of citrus with a nice bittering finish. Oily slick mouthfeel with decent mid-palate on this one. beermatrix (1497) - Twin Cities, Minnesota, USA - JUL 9, 2003
Solid, but a bit lighter straw yellow in color, an inch high head of white froth, lumpy top sits long, fading slowly leaving lace in small sheets. Makes up for the lighter color.
Smell is so yummy of citrus fruits - strong grapefruit, some peach, and light lemon, quite juicy and a slight piney fatness, good , no, make that great hop nose. Wiff in, ahhh....
Taste is quite excellent, smooth, but tight of quick malts then the hops enter with super smooth grapefruit, a bit of peach and a nice airy light finish of more grapefruity sourness and a pucker of drying. Quite a decent medium body close to full and lightly textured with some creamy features in the front and finish. One hell of a great pale ale, nearly beating out some IPA's I've had. Phoenix has a winner here in my book! MaiBockAddict (1497) - Good Beer Bar Deprived, New Jersey, USA - JAN 30, 2004
Pours Yellow-orange with a nice big lacey white head. Citrussy orange aroma of massive hops. Hoppy flavor with citrus notes. Full body. A touch of malt. I just think this is lacking in refinement, for the flavors are just not coming completely together for me. TChrome (1481) - North Richland Hills, Texas, USA - JUN 1, 2004
Amber colored beer with an off white head that is modestly retained. Aroma is freshly hoppy with some malt balance. Shaply citric, acidic hoppiness. Different from the usual west coast hop brew. Bone dry finish. Nice pale.

From a 1L Bottle. Obtained in a trade from footy 4/24/2007. Thanks, Rudy! A 1L bottle? Who puts an APA in 1L bottles? Pours a moderately transparent, golden nectarine color with a tall layer of soapy white head. Big, citrusy cascade nose, full of lemon and light spice. Has a bit of a soapy character to it. Gentle honey malts back. Light bodied, crisply carbonated mouthfeel. Lots of carbonation, which gives it a sizzling refreshing quality. Starts out with a bit of graham cracker maltiness and light honey sweetness. The flavor develops some richer chewy caramels mid-palate before finishing with a clean, grapefruity cascade final smack. The flavors are much more impressive than the nose. Very nice example of an APA; it’s like a newer, improved SNPA. JCW (1278) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - MAY 22, 2003

UPDATED: MAY 9, 2003 Amber color with a big white head. A malty sweet start and a tangy hop finish. Did I detect apricots? A quite quaffable APA. brentfeesh (1208) - Mansfield, Ohio, USA - FEB 12, 2010
Received in trade. Lightly hazy golden orange color with a big head that almost makes me think this is infected with gusher. Pretty carbonation though. Crisp metallic and biscuit like aroma. Lightly sharp taste that moves towards bitterness in a spicy way. Light grain in fine balance with the hops. Simple and straight forward. Semi-dry mouth feel with a medium body. I may have liked this more a bit fresher but it was fine.
