UPDATED: SEP 29, 2005 Good hop-head drink. Pours a deep golden color with a thick white head that hangs around for most of the drink. Nice tart citric hop aroma that carries into the flavor. The carbonation adds to a "fun" mouth-feel, bitter with a mild malt flavor. Dry, crisp, tart finish.Bockyhorsey (2628) - Mesa, Arizona, USA - AUG 24, 2005

Cask at Papago. Aroma of this beer was more like an Ipa. Real good floral and fruit aromas. Amber body with white head and lacing that left a blanket of lacing on the glass. Good citrus flavor. Smooth on the palate. An enjoyable beer. jsquire (4489) - St. Marys, Ohio, USA - MAY 24, 2003
Copper orange in color with a fluffy white head and a big pine hop nose. Nice balance of sweet malt backbone with lots of hops on top. I drank a ton of these pool side at my friend's place in Scottsdale. It is a very accessable APA and I really enjoyed it. Great with food or by itself. gotebo (11) - carnegie, Oklahoma, USA - JAN 20, 2004
Pours with a cloudy, copper colour. Small head with some lacing. First drink explodes with a crisp, citrusy flavor. THis would make a great lawnmower beer on a hot day. ricardowess (25) - Sedona, Arizona, USA - OCT 18, 2004
Light copper color- small head. Crisp, clean taste - faint taste of apricot. OK hops - not overboard. Well balanced APA with no aftertaste. Much better than expected.

Spankin Fresh 22oz bottle. Glad t o see the boys at Sonoran bottling again.
Pours a golden caramel color with a nice white soapy head. Aroma of citrus, pine, malts, hops. Flavor is piney hops, a decent malt backbone, a touch of citrus with a nice bittering finish. Oily slick mouthfeel with decent mid-palate on this one. jzzbassman (1631) - Arlington, Texas, USA - JAN 29, 2004
Very nice APA. Great aroma, very fresh tasting, crisp, citrusy, with a nice hop bite. Best thing I've ever gotten from Microbeer Club. Kinz (3786) - Glen Allen, Virginia, USA - JUL 29, 2004
Big thanks to squidget for this one! Medium gold, creamy head, nice to look at. Bracing grapefruit nose. Initially this beer is all grapefruit, almost piercing in its purity. As it warms, biscuit malts emerge, followed by a gentler grapefruit flavor. Enjoyable lingering bitterness. Not your everyday run of the mill APA. Well done. Sampled on draught at the brewery oulet in Pheonix, and in a growler to go. Very well done example of American Pale Ale with great hop aromatics and bitterness. Burning Bird pours to a beautiful, bright, amber color with a nice white head, and a moderate amount of carbonation. Lots of good citrus hop aromas in the nose with just a touch of malt sweetness. The palate is lean with some good biscuit and sweet malt flavor, that leads into some tangy/fruity hop flavor. Burning Bird ends with some more malt and fruit up front, then finishes with a nice burst of citrus hop bitterness that lingers. Fresh, flavorful, and very, very drinkable beer on draught at the brewpub outlet. A pint after pinter, and very food friendly beer that works well with a number of dishes on their menu. If in Pheonix, the brewpub is really a must visit. Small, cozy place, very warm and inviting, fantastic service, good food, lots of choices, and growlers to go.
