The hops came right at me but finished with a nice maltiness. Good balance. One of my favorite IPAs so far. Brodie (540) - Boone, North Carolina, USA - SEP 28, 2002
Had this from the cask at Papago Brewing. One of the best IPAs I've had. Citrussy, flowery aroma of american hops. Excellent balance of malt sweetness with hop bitterness and flavor. One of my favorite beers. loweredsixth (946) - Clovis, California, USA - JUN 7, 2003
Orange color with a large white creamy head. The aroma was full of hops, but not bitter...tons of sweet peaches, flowers, and pine trees. The flavor was sweet...pine, peach/apricot, slightly bitter, slightly acidic. I thought the feel was a little too wet for this kind of beer..a drier, crisper feel might have made this beer incredible. Very impressive IPA. I've never had one quite like this. Very very good. legion242 (2348) - Richardson, Texas, USA - APR 24, 2002
Pale copper color; Thick head with a 'pancake' surface; Aroma was mild and bready. Dry, tart across the tongue. Very nice floral character. One of the subtlest and nicest IPA's that I have ever had. Wonderful balance. Well Done!! beer200299 (13) - Phoenix, Arizona, USA - FEB 21, 2002
Really good. I got a lot of hop flavor and hop aroma. Malty flavor, too...

good IPA...hoppy like an IPA should be ;)................................... Steib (613) - Queen Creek, Arizona, USA - MAY 21, 2003
A big fluffy white head. Pale copper color. Rich, tart nicely hopped. Very enticing beer from the label to the palate. Superb, gives Stone IPA a run for their money. DaSilky1 (2608) - San Diego, California, USA - AUG 21, 2003
big juicy and chewy aroma spitting forth obnoxious fumes of apricot, mango, pineapple, wet irish setters, and a slightly mildewy book..the covering atop refused to disappear and just sat there thick and frothy with a microscopic orgy of tiny tiny bubbles..sitting was a hazy mass of orangish-amber beer...dirty/organic hop front..with riding bitterness..overripe fruits, dried apricots, and grass flavors follow..some rounded malts sweeten things up at the end..balancing it all out and leaving you refreshed.. Bottle. Pours medium amber, with a small white head that diminished to a ring of bubbles and left nice lacing. Bold, hoppy aroma with lots of sweet toasted malts, citrus and pine. Flavor with lots of the same and a nice lingering hoppy finish. Nice mouthfeel, medium body with moderate carbonation. Nice ale - another good, bold brew from Sonora.
