COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A trans-Gottardo double IPA, brewed in collaboration with Full Measure Brewing (Bern). 3D is built around the assertive bitterness and bold citrus flavours that started the craft revolution, with a nod towards the tropical future. We used a truckload of familiar hops (Columbus, Cascade, Chinook and Citra) with a modern hop schedule, and packaged in black bottles to prevent UV infiltration. Keep cool, drink fresh and from a glass.

UPDATED: NOV 6, 2016 <re-rated 10/2016, courtesy of Marco Buraschi - pretty clear ruby-brown beer with a moderate beige foam left; pungent aromatic hoppiness with solid notes of citrus, earth and pines; full-bodied, assertive and very tasty; very bitter and very dry; adequate carbonation, long aromatic finish, earthy, spicy and with some licorice and more citrus - huge beer!

[email protected]s Krone - fairly clear dark ruby-brown beer under a solid persistent and creamy beige foam; nice lace-work; clean and well-present fruity hoppiness (quinces, lychees, citrus and strawberries); full-bodied and velvety palate, juicy; some sweetness below and an ascending bitterness lasting very long in a very fruity hoppy finish (plums, quinces and berries); light herbal tones - impressive and deeply good (5/8/8/4/18)

Bottle 33 cl from Bier-Bienne (CH). Muddy reddish, average pale ochre head. Aromas of citrus and tropical fruits with a sweet and fragancy mouth, tangerine, mango, plum, pine and tropical marmalade. Creamy but a point of flour, round and very sweet-jam but with an alcohol present and discreet at the same time. Bello !

Bottle at a tasting. High bitterness and loads of hops character - citrusy, zesty, resiny. Some alcohol pokes through, but only lightly. Intense, kicking ass. Fresh feeling too. Well attenuated and high carbonation. Moderate to full body with light caramel presence, but whatever. Basically a well made DIPA.

UPDATED: NOV 7, 2016 Intense pine and resin, grass, sweet grain malts, molasses. Hazy, dark amber, massive, creamy, beige head. More pine, resin, grass, turning very bitter, soft carbonation, full bodied, super bitter and dry finish. Very piney and resinous IIPA, seems a bit one dimensional, too intense in piney bitterness, lacks complexity. Bottle from BeersnMore, Zurich.

330 mL bottle poured, gifted by luttonm. Thanks Matt, for supplying the majority of my recent beer rates. I could rate the ones I already have, but these are all really cool. Dark and dense copper red pour with a rocky foam head. Bold hop bitter aroma faced with an earthy malt. Flavor reverses, and relies on a sturdy malt backbone, with some grassy, slightly vegetal hops impression. The malt profile here is on point. Very tasty. Typically when I notice a solid malt bill, it turns out to be the most basic of basic bills, but thats okay. Overall I like this. A different look into the IPA style from the fairly consistent type I regularly end up with. Refreshing to try something different. Not sure how fresh this is without a bottle date, and with me holding on to it for a short while, but Im curious how this would taste fresh on tap. Guess Im going to Switzerland. Fun beer here.

Bottle shared by luttonm - thanks! Clear dark amber pour, creamy head, good duration. Aroma: toasty, light caramel, very pleasant resinous and herbal hop component. Taste: theres this really cool nutty/toast malt contribution here, with a nice assertive but pleasant bitter finish. Reminds me in some ways as a super-hopped up mild, which is a pretty fun take. Medium body, creamy texture, average carbonation. Overall: unique tasty brew, would definitely drink this again if ever I find myself in Switzerland.

Benzai (15012) - Oirschot, THE NETHERLANDS, NETHERLANDS - MAY 30, 2016
Bottle [from Euro Swap 2016-2 thanks to Anstei] @ home. Clear dark amber, red-purple color with a medium to full sized off-white to beige head that lasts for quite a while and leaves fair to good lacing. Aroma is malts, full of hops, resin and pine. Taste malts, fruity hops, fruit bitter, grapefruit, citrus, bitter, slight resin in the background. Medium body and carbonation. Not as thick and less sticky resin and pine Im used to in an Imperial IPA, but pretty nice!

Bottle shared at Johnnys Off License, Rome. Courtesy the brewer. Darker copper, foamy tan. Juicy foam, rich bitter copper malt. Strong juicy bitter hop. Intense, a little coffee and cocoa. Balanced bigger ipa. Lovely hop treatment.
