330 mL bottle poured. Much thanks to Matt/Alberto for the bottle. Backlog. A little past the best by date, but still very much going strong. Copper orange pour with a lasting cloud head. Slight metallic aroma, along with a subtle, but lingering hop. Some spice. Cool flavor, rich bready malts. Modest in the rye department, though it is there. A unique beer to try. Bottle courtesy of anstei. Bottle was deliberately left out of the fridge for a short while to get the right drinking temperature. Hazy dark amber color with big tan head. Aroma is spicy grains, Schwarzbrotkruste (dark bread crust), with hops that give an artificial lemon flavour, but mixed together in a rather delicate way. Taste is more Schwarzbrot, the citrus flavours become more orange-ish, bitterness becomes more prominent and the finish is spicy and bitter, more herbal, with marmalade aftertaste that sticks around rather long. Medium-bodied, the carbonation is also medium, the mouthfeel is a bit foamy and silky, definitely some wheat texture noticeable. I can imagine this being a great Real Ale.
[took a fork and stirred out the carbonation] The artificial citrus hops go back, now they’re more cat-pissy, the rye becomes more prominent, with some rubber. More yeasty, better balanced, mostly because the detergent-like hoppiness is gone. The body now feels a little bit too watery. What to learn from this: It’s actually possible to bottle Real Ale. - cloudy copper-orange beer with a beige foam left; nice lace; solid aroma of rye and oranges, strawberries; earthy and light bready; velvety palate; a respectable malt backbone; dry and very bitter; long earthy and rye-ish finish where the fruity tones remain more discrete

- light hazy reddish-amber beer under a firm long lasting pale beige foam; flowery, yeasty, nutty, bready and herbal aroma; velvety palate, smooth and with a low carbonation, tasty, decently bitter; spicy and fairly bready finish with light lemony tones coming through - class and high drinkability (5/7/8/4/14)
UPDATED: DEC 30, 2015 First rating, 11/23/2015. Hand pump at Erzbierschof Zurich. The first real ale where I really don’t mind the low carbonization. Still really full, some rye but not overwhelming, sweet and bitter. Yup, I like it. (6/4/7/3/15 = 3.5)

Second rating, 12/30/2015. Bottle from Beers’n’more. Really soapy aroma, some citric aroma hops - A bit like your lemon-flavoured dishwashing detergent. Still not much rye, but better carbonization. Lots of it, actually. Very bitter. (5/4/7/4/12 = 3.2)
Clear orange copper, rich cream head. Grain and malts, bread crust, light rye and light hops. Hoppy and hearbaceous bitter taste with very pleasant rye finish and aftertaste. Would love to taste it on tap.
