Draught at Beer Wars. Roasty malt, dark cherry, dried fruit and toffee, light sour edge, dry yeast finish. Interesting take on a Dubbel but a bit heavy and unbalanced, tough to down a full pint.

I really liked this and was impressed, as overall it is very close to the best in the style, however, something seems to be missing, I can’t quite put my finger on it. Color and appearance are right on, aroma too, although a tad sweet. taste is also plums / prune juice, again sweet. Short finish, just sweetness. It might be the yeast that could be a bigger part of this beer.

Poured from a 22oz bomber into a tulip glass. Pours semi cloudy brown with amber head and lace. Aroma of rich malts, caramel candy, bubblegum. Moderate carbonation and mouthfeel. Flavors of dark malts, minerals, slight fruit rind, citrus. Overall rather light in body for a dubbel with some inappropriate flavors for the style, and lacking in overall good flavors regardless of style. Somewhat like a session dark lager.

Bottle (22oz): Dark reddish. Small head. There was a fruity sweetness that surprised me (just hope it was not the sip of a cider I had had before). Not very familiar with this type of beer, but enjoyed it. Should try again.

Pours a dark, dark brown, with tan head. Aroma of malts and dark fruit, with a sweet edge to it. Taste is rich and slightly sweet, a good dark Belgian. Thumbs up.

Red-brown pour with a tan head. The aroma is full of toffee and yeast. The flavor has some strong toffee notes as well as some dark fruit, pepper and alcohol. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.
