22 ounce bottle into chalice, no bottle dating. Pours hazy very dark reddish brown color with a small light khaki head with decent retention, that reduces to a small lace cap. Minimal lacing on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big toffee, raisin, prune, banana, toast, molasses, dark bread, candi sugar, clove, pepper, light chocolate, and yeast earthiness. Damn nice aromas with good balance and complexity of malt and yeast ester notes; with good strength. Taste of big toffee, raisin, prune, banana, toast, dark bread, molasses, candi sugar, clove, pepper, light chocolate, and yeast earthiness. Lingering notes of toffee, raisin, prune, banana, toast, molasses, dark bread, candi sugar, clove, light chocolate, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Damn nice balance and complexity of malt and yeast ester flavors; with great robustness and zero cloying sweetness after the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-full bodied; with a moderately creamy and slick mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a slight warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is an excellent and unique Dubbel style. All around great balance and complexity of malt and yeast flavors; and very smooth to sip on. A very enjoyable offering. Serving: from bottle--purchased at Sound Brewery.
Aroma: moderate apple aroma.
Appearance: very small, light-brown, initial head that disappeared in seconds. Fully diminishing longevity and fair lacing. Hazy, dark-orange body.
Taste: moderately sweet, cherry-like initial flavor, and moderately sour finish with average duration.
Palate: medium bodied with oily texture and soft carbonation.
Overall: good. Beerdrinker79 (2218) - Idaho, USA - APR 9, 2013
22 oz. bottle- Pours very dark ruby red with a thin tan head that reduces to a collar. Aroma is caramel malts, sweet, some hops. The taste is the same, light caramel malts and hops imparting a dryness in the finish. Body is medium to light and carbonation is somewhat high. This was good, not great, I actually liked that it was a lighter body, not so thick caramel malty, but nothing special here.

Tap at Devil Craft, Tokyo. Brown colour with a white head. Aroma of alcohol, dark fruits. Flavour matches the aroma, alcohol, dark fruits, but unfortunately not as good. Travlr (26105) - Charlotte, North Carolina, USA - MAR 31, 2013

Draught at Kamikaze. Deep nose, chocolate, berries, raisin; rich, fruity, and malty. A good orthodox dubbel nose. Orange-brown with lace. Rich malty flavor, not too sweet. Great chocolate fudge and dried fruits. Light, soft carbonation. Very nice.
