Aroma: dried dark fruits, dark brown sugar, honey, raspberries, chocolate-covered cherries. 22 ounce bottle into chalice, no bottle dating. Pours hazy very dark reddish brown color with a small light khaki head with decent retention, that reduces to a small lace cap. Minimal lacing on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big toffee, raisin, prune, banana, toast, molasses, dark bread, candi sugar, clove, pepper, light chocolate, and yeast earthiness. Damn nice aromas with good balance and complexity of malt and yeast ester notes; with good strength. Taste of big toffee, raisin, prune, banana, toast, dark bread, molasses, candi sugar, clove, pepper, light chocolate, and yeast earthiness. Lingering notes of toffee, raisin, prune, banana, toast, molasses, dark bread, candi sugar, clove, light chocolate, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Damn nice balance and complexity of malt and yeast ester flavors; with great robustness and zero cloying sweetness after the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-full bodied; with a moderately creamy and slick mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a slight warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is an excellent and unique Dubbel style. All around great balance and complexity of malt and yeast flavors; and very smooth to sip on. A very enjoyable offering.

Bomber as a gift. Clear deep red body with a tall head. Though nice immediately out of the fridge, this gets amazing as it warms. Aromas of plums, dark cherry, soil, and chocolate waft from the glass. Palate is full, but still on the dryish side. Every thing is clean and direct. It’s delightfully fruity. Nice malty toffee balance with notes of sweet bread and chocolate. Spot on textbook dubbel.

Bomber from Malt & Vine. Pours ruddy amber with a slight head. Aromas of banana, clove and yeast/spice. Full bodied. Flavor is spicy roast caramel. Smooth. Still think there’s underlying banana and clove. It’s pretty balanced, and there’s something keeping all the malt from being very sweet. It’s really tasty. Maybe it’s complicated. Trust me that it’s delicious, even if words fail me.

Bomber; pours dark brown and slightly muddy with creamy white head fading almost instantly; banana and dark candy syrup with a little spicy yeast and chocolate; creamy mouthfeel with some sharpness and spicy phenols; a mix of figs, chocolate and banana that becomes more even as it warms and breathes; brown sugar and banana phenols mixed with some spice that mildly burns the nose hairs; drinks smooth with a lingering layer of sticky figs and stale grass

Draught at Kamikaze. Deep nose, chocolate, berries, raisin; rich, fruity, and malty. A good orthodox dubbel nose. Orange-brown with lace. Rich malty flavor, not too sweet. Great chocolate fudge and dried fruits. Light, soft carbonation. Very nice.
