3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bomber. Pours a murky reddish dark brown color with a thin cap of off-white foam. The aroma is a mix of banana bread, burnt caramel, fig and Belgian yeast. Lots of dark fruit and caramelized sugar sweetness in the taste along with some clove, chocolate and cinnamon notes. Also a strong bready malt presence throughout. The body is slightly thick and creamy with soft carbonation while the finish is dry and malty with a subtle alcohol kick. Overall, a solid interpretation of the style that could use a little more active carbonation and complexity.
22-ounce bottle pours a sparkling clear ruby -- gorgeous color -- with tan head and lacing that dissipates rapidly. Aroma: dried dark fruits, dark brown sugar, honey, raspberries, chocolate-covered cherries. Flavor: malt-forward with molasses, toffee and agave, along with figs, dates, raisins, prunes, cherries, strawberries, bananas, vanilla beans, black pepper. Mouthfeel: full-bodied, slick. Bomber as a gift. Clear deep red body with a tall head. Though nice immediately out of the fridge, this gets amazing as it warms. Aromas of plums, dark cherry, soil, and chocolate waft from the glass. Palate is full, but still on the dryish side. Every thing is clean and direct. It’s delightfully fruity. Nice malty toffee balance with notes of sweet bread and chocolate. Spot on textbook dubbel. DomD (307) - Halifax, Nova Scotia, CANADA - OCT 23, 2016
Draft. Aroma of sweet candy. Pours a clear reddish brown with tan head. Has a medium sweet taste. Full bodied and smooth. Excellent Dubbel. snoworsummer (5962) - baltimore, Maryland, USA - SEP 7, 2016
Draft at the brewery. Pours clear reddish copper with a fizzy beige head. Tastes like dried fruits, candied malt, earth, and wood. Light body and low carbonation. Smells like dried fruits, candied malt, earth, wood, and banana. Alphadelic (2249) - Portland, Oregon, USA - SEP 3, 2016
A rich, deep caramel/fudge nose. In the mouth it has a well-judged carbonation, it’s dry with a sticky fruit flavor, a bit more of that fudge. If there is a fault it’s definitely in the body, which is a touch thin. The beer is good but comes off a little shallow compared to it’s truly Belgian counterparts.

22 oz bottle from Lifesource Natural Grocer.
Darker brown ale with a thick and tight bubbled creamy head.
Aroma Mildly phenolic and slight pepper..earthy, some blackberry..OK
Taste similar to the aroma..sweeter cocoa finish.
OK mouth feel could use more carbonation.
Nice beer but not a great dubbel Capa (3405) - Kitsap, Washington, USA - DEC 3, 2015
A small fizzy head on this dark brew. I really couldn’t get in this one. It seemed like quite a mess. It had some classic dubbel traits but none of them were I concert with each other. They were very disorganized. An unpleasant earthy note throughout. Not something I’ll be having again. bulldogops (2726) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - NOV 21, 2015
