4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
I loved this beer when I had it a couple weeks ago at Brouwer’s Cafe in Seattle. I didn’t notice a lot of Belgian styling, but for an Imperial IPA, I liked it a lot. The dimly lit environment makes me hesitant to comment on the appearance, but the aroma was beautiful and citrusy. The palate was creamy and resinous, but not overwhelmingly so. Overall, I thought this beer was dynamite stuff. I hope I get to try more from this new Washington state brewery.
Love this beer, lots of hops, tropical fruits, booze and some peppery notes. Very good Bulk_Carrier (6065) - Vermont, USA - MAR 2, 2017
Poured into a tulip, the appearance was a copper color with a thin white foamy head. Sly stringy lace.
The aroma had some sweet Belgian yeastiness flowing over some floral and spicy notes. Light banana, some red delicious apple and then some allspice.
The flavor balanced between the spice, yeastiness and sweet notes. Crisp with a touch of the spice and yeast in the aftertaste. Dry sweet sort of apple to banana to yeast and spice finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionability about it. Carbonation felt fine and the ABV felt good as well for what it is.
Overall, nicely done Belgian strong ale that I could come back to. Capa (3325) - Kitsap, Washington, USA - OCT 23, 2016
Loads of juicy tropical fruits, sweet, soft dry bitterness throughout. Medium bodied. Copper with a white head. Enjoyable. snoworsummer (5782) - baltimore, Maryland, USA - SEP 7, 2016
Draft at the brewery. Pours clear gold with a fizzy white head. Tastes like Belgian yeast, light herb, banana, lemon, and dry citrus hops. Light/medium body and low carbonation. Smells like belgian yeast, light herb, banana, lemon and dry citrus hops. willisread (3401) - Nashville, Tennessee, USA - MAY 28, 2016
Tap at DC Kanda. Lots of booze in the nose along with nutmeg, peppery yeast notes and citrus hops. Good carbonation with a slightly sweet and peppery mouthfeel. Finish is warming. Not a bad tripel.

Tap at Hawthorne hop house. Goblet. Mahogany with medium white head. Smells of tart dark fruit, Belgian style. Belgian yeast, dark fruit. Well handled alcohol. Totally my type of beer. Delicious. UXO (1896) - CANADA - JAN 22, 2016
Appearance: clear pale amber with a thin ivory head, good retention and no lacing. (3/5) Aroma: complex, candi sugar, dry-ish tripel-like tropical fruit and Belgian yeast, floral, earthy. (8/10) Taste: moderate sweet, light tart, light bitter. (8/10) Palate: medium-light body, moderate-high carbonation, lightly boozy and tart finish. (4/5)
Oh my… if this is indiscretion, I’m not sure why you’d want to be discreet. “I’d rather laugh with the sinners than cry with the saints,” indeed. Sweet, but not too much so, balanced with a lovely mild tartness and bitter, accented with floral and yeast. Layers of complexity continue to reveal as it warms, and make it difficult to accurately describe the bouquet. I was expecting (and bracing myself for) a barleywine-ish approach, but this is is a far more interesting prospect. (I can handle a good barleywine, but it’s not my favourite style, especially when it’s not done well.) The ABV is definitely present, but well integrated so that the overall experience is much milder than one might expect from double digits. Well worth looking for. Often strong Belgian style ales are too sweet for my taste, but this fantastic entry adds reasonable bitterness - 48 IBU, making for a delightfully balanced entry. solidfunk (9033) - Washington D.C., Washington DC, USA - OCT 26, 2015
Apricot and florals. Golden pour with good head and lacing. Sweet and sour finish. Good mix, easy drinking. My kind of blonde Belgian strong. jsnicholas (635) - Woodinville, Washington, USA - JUL 18, 2015
Bottle (22oz ): Light golden with no real head. Belgian yeast aroma. Taste is sweet and somewhat fruity. Not much bitterness. Alcohol hits in the end, but easy drinking.
