Had this at the All Pints North festival in Duluth, MN. Has an awesome mint chocolate chip ice cream scent, taste however was disappointing, it was rather artificial almost like mint flavored floss. Hophead22 (2879) - Redlands, by way of Wisconsin,, California, USA - JUN 8, 2013
22oz bottle. Rating #69 (haha). Dark cola brown with a tan head. Big mint aroma with some vanilla and chocolate and coffee to add a bit of bitterness. Flavor is decent, more mint and coffee with some dark chocolate and a little bourbon, not bad, but it needed a little more body for the barrel aging. From a 22 oz bottle shared at home. Pours black with a tan head. Aroma of peppermint patties. Flavors of mint, chocolate and notes of coffee. Gentle roasted finish. Nice dessert beer. Pailhead (6543) - Rochester Hills, Michigan, USA - JUN 5, 2010
Growler: the aroma has lots of mint with lighter chocolate, vanilla, and coffee. It pours a dark brown with orange highlights around the edges of the glass and a small beige head. The flavor starts with chocolate and mint. The finish has lots of vanilla and bourbon...too much bourbon. Light-medium bodied with mild carbonation that comes across a tad thin. madvike (3281) - Middleton, Wisconsin, USA - MAY 19, 2011
Bottle - Pours deep brown with a rapidly dissipating frothy tan head. Nose is light bourbon sweetness with pronounced creme de menthe, chocolate, and a bit of coffee grounds. Real smooth, with a nice medium roast, creme de menthe, irish creme, a bit of sweet oaky bourbon. A bit of a flat finish, with a bit of coffee and some sweet syrupy flavors mingling with the oak. A little thinner than I expected, and not a ton of carbonation. Going to have to agree with some of the others that it tastes a bit artificial, but it still works pretty well. For one pour, it’s pretty pleasant.

Bottle shared by a friend. Darkest brown pour with a thin beige head. Malty and chocolatey nose with mint, coffee and a cough drop note from the mint. Very mentholy. Cough drop flavor with some sourness (possibly from the barrel, possibly infection setting in), chocolate and mint before a coffee finish. kbutler1 (1381) - Minnesota, USA - AUG 26, 2011
Bottle. Been sitting on this one for a while and finally cracked. Pours a dark brown color with a light tan head. The mint is very noticeable as soon as I poured the beer. Dark roast, chocolate, and mint all in the nose. Slight minty start that stays the whole time. Light chocolate and roast notes. Easy drinking and somewhat refreshing. The only let down is that the bourbon notes are pretty minimal. Medium bodied. Ever so slight lace. Overall, decent. deyholla (11909) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - SEP 24, 2011
Bottle thanks to someone at freetail release. Pours a near clear dark brown with an earthy brown head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a good amount of mint with roasted malts and a bit of sweet bourbon. Flavor has a bit of mint but mainly roaseted malt and a bit of bourbon, Westchesterco (2078) - mclean, Virginia, USA - AUG 8, 2013
From a bottle it is brown with a slight head. The aroma is of bourbon and mint. It tastes of chocolate and mint and has. A bitter and sweet flavor that resonated on the palate MarinEvelyn (854) - Wisconsin, USA - DEC 21, 2013
Aged for about a year.
Smells like candy. Chocolate mint candies, andies candies or mint chocolate ice cream! Malt, a little bourbon.
Taste is similar, but a little light, a little lacking in my opinion. Nice minty aftertaste though, just a little dry and thin.
