Stout Night!!! Starting with this beer courtesy of JPDIPSO. Lots of coffee flavor, bitter, malty, well balanced beer. Smooth and drinkable, black like volcanic glass, this is a solid Stout. A little thin but excellent in the mixture. madsberg (11773) - Søborg, DENMARK - MAR 18, 2005
Bottled: Dark brown colour. Light brown head. Aroma of fruit, malt, some roast. Cocoa, roast, malt and fruit in the flavour. Is medium bodied. Ends on a light bitter note, with light alcoholburnt on the lips. Thanks BBB63 for including this in my Secret Santa package. Terminus (3689) - St. Louis, Missouri, USA - JAN 6, 2005
bottle-purchased at woodmans in Madison, WI-pours a deep brown hue witha small off-white head. looks more like a porter than a stout. butterscotch and coffee aroma-flavors of burnt coffee, roast and char-very burnt tasting. light body and thin palate detract from the overall rating of this beer. A good session stout for those cold winters in Northern WI. brewblackhole (1588) - Muskego, Wisconsin, USA - DEC 5, 2004
Sweet cherry cola type of aroma, sharp cherry chocolatefirst taste, very sweet malt aftertaste, not very smooth. Seemed more like a sweet stout. Would buy it again hopscotch (11161) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - NOV 29, 2004
UPDATED: DEC 2, 2004 Pitch black ale with a small, fizzy, dark brown head. The nose is of rich, creamy, milk chocolate, cashew, hazelnut, coconut and buttermilk. Well-balanced with lots of burnt notes in the flavor. Medium-bodied with a watery mouthfeel and lively carbonation. Fairly short, roasty, lightly sweet finish. Thanks to robertsreality for the bottle.

Pours a dark dark brown, almost black. No head. Aroma is light choclate and roasted coffee. Favor is like watered down coffee. Sweet, toffy dark choclate, and licorice. Palate is a little thin for my taste in style, but over all fine brew. I.C.suds (189) - Da U.P. eh?, Michigan, USA - OCT 21, 2004
Very foamy but lasting tan head sits above a dark fizzy beer. Rather average stout. Had one on special - 2 bucks a bottle at the ritzy gay bartender hotel pub. JoeM500 (1908) - Crown Point, Indiana, USA - OCT 17, 2004
Bottle from BBB63: Quite the foamer, exploded out of the glass and onto the floor. Nose was full of coffee, dark roasted. hints of anice and vanilla, quite a complex stout! Oaky and woody towards the finish. It is light, though, but I think the big tastes just make me expect it to be thicker bodied. I wish most of it wouldn’t have overflowed!!! heemer77 (5358) - Urbandale, Iowa, USA - SEP 3, 2004
Very dark black with a thin tan head. Aroma is fresh cut grass, vanilla beans and a touch of coffee with cream in it. The taste is fairly full. A nice dry character with some coffee, grass and cinnamon. Strange feeling at the back of the mouth. It is hard to place, but something like a flat cola? Smells great, but the taste let me down. obisbeer (568) - Barcelona, SPAIN - AUG 5, 2004
Dark as night with thick dark head. Malty dry chocolate nose with some cherry fruit.Rich, thick, mice dry chocolate and burnt toast notes on the palate. Very rich with lingering burnt toast finish. Very nice stout that’s not over the top!
