UPDATED: JUL 28, 2007 12 oz. bottle. Pours a very dark reddish black with a thick foamy brown head. Typical stout coffee aroma is there, but also accented by some sweet vinious notes. Very interesting aroma. Burnt flavors and subtle roasted malt flavors are prominent. Very light sourness with some earthy notes, too. Mouthfeel is atypical for a stout - light, bubbly. 7/28 re-rate - Had this again last night. Not a stout fan, but I really enjoyed this beer. Not sweet or cloying, a good balance of flavors. ross (2146) - weddington, North Carolina, USA - JUN 1, 2007
Bottle from Ryan. Thanks. Intersting beer. Pours out a very dark color with a tan head. I about overflowed my glass from the head that came off this beer. Roasted and coffee smelling beer. Taste is similar, with quite a bit of carbonation. Not bad, but it could use alot less carbonation. tyler_mn (2464) - SLP, Minnesota, USA - MAY 31, 2007
Bottle. Pours rich black with deep red highlights. Aggressive pour yields a rich creamy brown two finger head. Nice nose: roasted malt. Cookies and cream ice cream. Slightly sweet. Decent carbonation and relatively creamy on the palate. Basic stout flavors. Starts rich and creamy (malt and toffee). Chocolate in the middle and ends with a pleasant note of dry coffee. Unassuming but quite quaffable stout. buckybeer (666) - Eau Claire, Wisconsin, USA - MAY 30, 2007
Pours black with almost no head. Very little carbonation. Aroma is quite good. Burnt malts, cocoa, light coffee, and roasted nuts. Flavor is full roasted malts and nuts, raw coffee, and some ripened fruits (maybe bananna). Mouthfeel seemed just a tad thin but still is an overall really good stout. bboeckl (142) - Grafton, Wisconsin, USA - MAY 13, 2007
Tap. Opaque with a thick tan head. Very fresh beer. Nose was of coffee, sweet dark chocolate. Taste was of malt, chocolate, vanilla and coffee, great roasted flavor. Creamy and smooth. Great mouthfeel. I would recommend!

Bottle from my dad. Poured black with a small tan head. Pretty good carbonation. Nose was light with roasted and chocolate malts. Full bodied and easy to drink. Better than I expected. MrBendo (1064) - Swedesboro, New Jersey, USA - APR 15, 2007
UPDATED: SEP 15, 2007 Thanks to RagallachMC and tytoanderso, who both sent me bonus bottles.
Deep brown pour. Medium head. No retention or lacing. Aroma of coffee and chocolate malts, and a little bitter, grassy hops. Tasted the same, without the hops. Slightly bitter finish. Creamy texture. No surprises here, but very good. Skyview (6115) - Papoose Jct, Minnesota, USA - APR 9, 2007
Picked up a few bottles from Trigs in Wausau. This stout pours a black brew with some red highlights and a foamy tan head. Aroma of strong coffee, pecans and dark chocolate. Taste of mocha and chocolate barley malt. Some bitter aftertaste.Very well good northern Wisconsin stout. BDR (2535) - Roseville, Minnesota, USA - MAR 30, 2007
UPDATED: MAY 24, 2007 On tap at Wilmarths Deepwater Grille. Wow, almost like drinking a totally different beer. Dark brown with creamy brown head. Dark chocolate nose with some coffee but the hazelnut dominates. Coffee and chocolate in the body with a smooth finish. GeneralGao (3614) - Iowa City, Iowa, USA - MAR 7, 2007

Nice malty nose. A little coffee. brown pour. Lots of coffee in this one, but a little rough on the finish.
12 oz bottle. Poured a deep dark brown color with orange highlights. Extremely effervescent. Way too much carbonation. Must be a bad bottle. Head was a light tan color. Very roasty aroma and flavor reminiscent of coffee and bitter chocolate. Full bodied with a bitter roasty finish.
