Very foamy but lasting tan head sits above a dark fizzy beer. Rather average stout. Had one on special - 2 bucks a bottle at the ritzy gay bartender hotel pub. brew3crew (166) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - MAR 7, 2012
Dark black body with a tan head. Smells of Malta and coffee. Taste follows. More coffee than I expected bboeckl (142) - Grafton, Wisconsin, USA - MAY 13, 2007
Tap. Opaque with a thick tan head. Very fresh beer. Nose was of coffee, sweet dark chocolate. Taste was of malt, chocolate, vanilla and coffee, great roasted flavor. Creamy and smooth. Great mouthfeel. I would recommend! Jriggz7 (117) - Indiana, USA - SEP 13, 2012
UPDATED: SEP 15, 2012 Opaque black body. Little head disapates quickly. Aroma dark fruits, brown sugar, dark chocolate. Creamy mouth feel. Taste subtle notes of dark fruits, dark chocolate, citrus, with a smokey roasted bitter finish. As it warms up to room temp chocolate more noticeable. Good brew redbeard3 (107) - - MAY 4, 2014
Poured into a shaker from 12oz bottle. Nice head and lacing. Dark fruit flavors, chocolate and caramel. Nicely rounded and by far my favorite from south shore.

BOTTLE: room temp. Pours black with lively tan head, quickly dissipates. Aroma is not very strong but definite roastedness. Flavor packs a punch of roasted barley and cocoa. Palate is bubbly but short lived. A decent stout. StoutCat (89) - North Laurel, Maryland, USA - JUN 12, 2005
(bottle) Medium body. Tastes like roated malt and caramel, slightly bitter but balanced by a fruity sweet smell. Thanks CaptainCougar! mjmurphy2 (85) - Madison, Wisconsin, USA - NOV 4, 2002
A workmanlike effort with a faint roasted taste. mrhowes (22) - St. Paul, Minnesota, USA - OCT 5, 2008

Pours a thick dark brown with a tan 1 finger head that quickly dissipates.
I’m getting lots of coffee, chocolate, brown sugar, molasses. It is a bit watery - I’m not a huge Stout drinker and I was able to notice this so heavier stout fans might be less impressed.
Overall I wouldn’t say this beer is breaking any new boundaries in the Stout business, but a nice drink nonetheless.
