12 oz bottle from Jeffy’s neighbor Fred, thanks man! Pours a solid balck body with a larger beige frothy head, nice. Aroma has some nice raostiness and vanilla extract but then there is this slightly weird sour powdered milk scent mixed in. Flavor is really nice with lots of roasty malts, burnt toast, dark chocolate and vanilla. Medium to fuller bodied with slightly strong carbonation and a slightly creamy mouthfeel. Very nicely done. nuplastikk (6256) - Madison, Wisconsin, USA - JUL 18, 2009
Draft at The Old Fashioned. Opaque black with an oily head. Pleasant coffee aroma. Smooth and mellow body, somewhat dry. Roasty with a subdued cocoa edge. Easy drinking, but full bodied enough to slowly sip. Solid Stout, with some coffee edges. Well done. JK (6146) - St. Louis Park, Minnesota, USA - OCT 8, 2006
Draught at the ABR 2006. Available in bottles at Chicones, Hudson , WI. thick and better than average oatmeal stout, even though I don’t know if there is actually any oatmeal in it. Roasted barley, and some nuts. Black with an impressive head. Simple but the substantial body and full flavor make this a winner. barleyPops (1142) - Quad-Cities, Illinois, USA - JAN 13, 2007

UPDATED: MAY 24, 2007 On tap at Wilmarths Deepwater Grille. Wow, almost like drinking a totally different beer. Dark brown with creamy brown head. Dark chocolate nose with some coffee but the hazelnut dominates. Coffee and chocolate in the body with a smooth finish. asedzie (826) - San Francisco, California, USA - JUN 28, 2007

Nice malty nose. A little coffee. brown pour. Lots of coffee in this one, but a little rough on the finish.
UPDATED: JUL 28, 2007 12 oz. bottle. Pours a very dark reddish black with a thick foamy brown head. Typical stout coffee aroma is there, but also accented by some sweet vinious notes. Very interesting aroma. Burnt flavors and subtle roasted malt flavors are prominent. Very light sourness with some earthy notes, too. Mouthfeel is atypical for a stout - light, bubbly. 7/28 re-rate - Had this again last night. Not a stout fan, but I really enjoyed this beer. Not sweet or cloying, a good balance of flavors. sneagrams3 (2337) - St. Louis, Missouri, USA - OCT 21, 2007
Tasted 10/2/07. 12oz bottle. Pitch and inky black. Aromas of toast and coffee. Touch peppery. Nice nose. Medium to full bodied with a nice rolling palate. Sticky good. Spicy brew. Coffee and vanilla flavors. Chocolate and dry fruits. Tight effervescence. Toasty. Sticky sweet with a nice anise note. Good roast, nice body, Good Stout! alexsdad06 (10389) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - MAR 10, 2008
12 oz. bottle courtesy of my Secret Santa. Pours a dark, dark brown color with a large tan head that patiently fades into a creamy crown. The aroma is roasted malt and mediumsweet dark chocolate. The flavor is also heavy on the roasted malt and dark chocolate. Additionally, a significant shot of coffee slips in at the end. Medium to full bodied and creamy smooth drinking brew. This is a solid stout indeed. Jmichael (640) - Asheville, North Carolina, USA - SEP 8, 2008
solid dark brwon pour with full fluffy brown head, smooth sweet aroma, spritxy palate, sweet front, mild finish, hidden fruity background, dry finish.
