3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Draft. Brown with a small tan head. Aroma of malt and caramel. Light body with some malt sweetness upfront, caramel notes, and a dry finish.
Advertised as primarily a rye ale with barley and wheat mixed in, the malt combination creates waves of lightly sweet and slightly different grain tastes. On the back end, a bit of spice (for conversation’s sake, I’ll say cinnamon) and a hint of sourness--just a bit cherry-like. Not a heavy beer though very dark in color. It poured to a small head that quickly disappeared. In all, really different and really good. On tap at the brewery. bookman10 (1133) - Osseo, Minnesota, USA - JUL 9, 2013
Was kind of strangely fruity in nature. Reminded me of a saison or some sort of Belgian or Trappist ale. Poured a dark copper, with small, stable head. On tap at brewpub/restaurant.
