A clever name can’t save a run of the mill dortmunder from falling into the crowd. At $2.00 a pint I might indulge every now and then but otherwise this beer merits at best a sample.
Aroma / Appearance - The golden body maintains a rich bronze core below layers of fresh white head. Wheat, dried honey, and clean hops offer everything you’d expect and not a bit more.
Flavor / Palate - Light hops tickle the palate along with a wheaty base. Nuttiness sweeps to a basic finish that is clean and unremarkable. If safe is your thing then order a pint. Otherwise South Street has better alternatives.
Many pints at the brewpub. Pours a slightly hazy golden, with a half inch of firm white foam. Aroma is a delicate cereal sweetness, some light grass and lemon, as well as a faint trace of honey. Taste is honeyed grain with elements of lemon and hay. Body is medium and this is one moreish beer!
