(2012 US backlog, recollected in tranquility). Tap sample @source, C’ville VA 14/09/2012. Light-bodied porter with medium head, all roasted and chocolate aromas remain below the flavour radar, picking up mostly seltzred toffee and filter coffee. blandest and most typical brewpub brew of the 4 I tried. bob_w (373) - new york, New York, USA - JUL 11, 2013
opaque, creamy tan head. a somewhat roasty aroma. mild semi-bitter, cocoa flavor, moderate bitterness, not too harsh on the roast flavor. seems more like a stout-light than porter. Emeister84 (2479) - Charlottesville, Virginia, USA - JUL 9, 2013
Subtle milk chocolate and coffee on the nose. Deep, dark ruby with a lasting, creamy, beige head. Roasty, dry, and slightly chocolatey. Medium bodied with soft carbonation, clean, smooth, and slightly metallic in the finish.

Sample on tap at the brewpub. Good thin persisting creamy khaki head. Dark color. Good sheets of lace. Nice, rich, sweet light roasty light chocolate milky flavor. Good creamy texture, light body, drinkable. Light sweet, light bitter. Decent porter, without going far out of the box. BeerandBlues2 (13213) - Escondido, California, USA - SEP 5, 2011

(Sample Date: 1/17/2009 Source:South Street Brewery) Light roast aroma. Clear very dark with light whispy head. Light roastyness in flavor with light body and thin mouthfeel. Finish is dry and moderately bitter. joshwilfong (1200) - Cleveland, Ohio, USA - FEB 14, 2009
black with white head. thick nitrogenated mouthfeel. mild malt with some chocolate but is lacking. some hop bitterness. outside of nitrogen this wouldn’t be much. not very good Butters (4059) - Richmond, Virginia, USA - DEC 30, 2008
My least favorite of my sampler. Thin and watery. Not very porter-ish. Bitter chocolate finish. Flat and boring.
