A hazy orange beer with a thin orange head. The aroma is sweet and very fruity - especially peaches coming thru - as well as very yeasty. The flavor is sweet with notes of wood, yeast, and caramel, but the body is thin. Definately one of the better Biere de Garde I’ve had. joergen (27982) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - AUG 17, 2005

(Bottle 75 cl) Very unclear orangey golden with a creamy, off-white head. Slightly sourish with some perfumy aromas. Dry with some citric notes balanced by some sweet cookie touches. Quite soft and pleasant. 120805 omhper (24967) - Tyresö, SWEDEN - AUG 25, 2005
UPDATED: SEP 12, 2005 Bottled at RBESG. Hazy deep golden. Buttery malt aroma. The geuine Flanders soft, dense, butterymalt character is definitely there, but lacks the lively champagnelike mouthfeel of the top examples. Instead this has more orangey hoppiness.

Hazy orange-amber. Earthy, woodsy, musty aroma. Yeasty, sourish. Notes of caramel malt, peaches, pears. Refined, not 100% to style, but few really good BdeG's are. bhensonb (15088) - Woodland, California, USA - NOV 23, 2010
750 c&c from Half Time. Pours lightly reddish orange/gold with a 3 finger beige head. Smells lightly farmy with fruits and mild spice. It’s surprisingly oaky. There’s a burnt sugar hint, and a lot of fruit. Mild hints of funk. argo0 (14127) - Washington DC, USA - MAY 21, 2006
(Noogfest2) Off-white head atop murky amber body. Aroma is moderately sweet, caramel/butterscotch, brown sugar, floral. Taste is moderately sweet, caramel, herbal, some butterscotch, light sour cherry, Belgian yeast, oak. Smooth medium body. Aroma seems off for style, but overall this is quite enjoyable. 750 mL bottle from Grape & Gourmet. Not sure what vintage this is, but it has some age. Pours a clear amber color with small dark floating particles. Huge frothy tan head. Good head retention. Aroma of bread, caramel, raisin, spice. The taste is spice, apples, bread, caramel, some doughy notes. Lingering spice. Medium bodied, lively carbonation.
