4.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 20/20
Call me a homer for this beer, but I could taste it in my mouth the day after I had it on tap at the release. I’ve since had it from the bottle, and it was exactly as I remembered. Acidic yet balanced with a perfect tart raspberry sweetness. Dark, but not so thick that you can’t enjoy a full pour of it. So - this is not blushing monk or framboise de amorosa. It’s also not framboise for a cure, which frankly in my mind lacked the funk or the complexity that this brew has. It stings, then it soothes, then it finishes clean. I have a few more of these and they are not for trade. Personal white whale right here. Markowski knocked it out the park on this bad boy.
Ruby to auburn pour. Nose is sweet honey and tart black raspberries. Taste is black raspberry, some sweet honey, tart berries, some melon. Great balance of tart and sweet. Medium mouthfeel, tart fruity finish. djd07 (16289) - Houston, Texas, USA - OCT 26, 2015
Bottle thanks to Hayden. Pours a cloudy ruby with small paperthin off white head that diminishes to nothing. The aroma is strong blackberry jam, acidic, funk, fresh fruit. Medium mouth, very jammy, light tartness, fruit has held up very well, lemon, funky, really enjoyed this one. vtafro (7451) - Wayne, New Jersey, USA - APR 19, 2015

Fonefan 300814. Red brown colour with a beige head. Aroma is raspberry, blackberry, malt. Flavour is raspberry, blackberry, lemon, malt, oak, funk. Very nice beer. wedgie9 (2703) - Nashville, Tennessee, USA - FEB 1, 2015
From notes. Tasted on 3/16/13 from a corked and caged 750mL bottle at our epic Bottleworks tasting with Curtis, Jedi, and crews from Knoxville and Nashville, huge thanks to Jedi for sharing this whale. Pours clear dark red with a thin pink head that completely disappears. The nose is straightforward awesome with tart, fresh, dark raspberry, very light bread malt, and some very light cinnamon and vanilla barrel. The flavor is the same raspberry notes from the nose, a really great oaky vinous quality, very clean overall. The body is medium and pleasantly tannic with light carbonation and a long sour raspberry and sour, oaky, vinous finish.

The beer is maroon in color. It seems to be pretty hazy. Very small head, just a scattering of white bubbles. The aroma is extremely jammy. Absolutely full of raspberry flavor. Mild cheesiness. Sweet and just richly fruity. Taste is similarly fruity and jammy as hell. Medium to strong sourness. Pretty good pucker. You can almost taste the berry seeds. Medium body. Wonderful sour. Completely full of fruit. fonefan (52351) - VestJylland, DENMARK - DEC 30, 2014

[ As Southampton Black Raspberry Lambic ].
Light unclear medium deep brown red color with a small, frothy to fizzy, fair lacing, mostly to fully diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy raspberry, blackberries, berries, barnyard, baking yeast, funky. Flavour is moderate to light heavy sweet and moderate acidic with a long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft.
Lots of fruity goodness in this one. Above average sour and acidity. Pretty good but Nowhere near VSB. ineedbeer (2297) - Oakland, California, USA - NOV 16, 2014
Aroma has a nice, light citrus character with a moderate yogurt character. Light funkiness with moderately strong raspberry character and fairly jammy.
Pours a cloudy blood red with faint brown notes. Small, pink head with decent retention on the edges.
Flavor is nice with moderately strong, jammy raspberry notes. Some medium light yogurt and citrus notes. Very jammy and fruity.
Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth.
Overall, a pretty nice beer with a lot of jammy fruit with light yogurt and citrus. Could use more funkiness, though I found the acidity nice and delicate. idontneedbeer (5) - Oakland, - NOV 14, 2014 does not count
I like this, but not as much as hommage. A bit too much lemon. They are all just really sour and I don’t like sour. Stop making me drink these beers.
