Orange pour no head some floating sediment. Smells of acetate,tart composted watermelon, some orange blossom and honey: overall pretty bad. Tastes like watermelon fermented in a still in the woods of kentucky. Some characteristics of a wit, but the alcohol is harsh and there’s this swilly moonshine fruity sour funk I just can’t shake.

Poured from 22oz bottle(room temp) a straw colour with a smallish head of foam that dissipated quickly. I also note that the carbonation level seems to be very low and that's ok with me.
The smell is very spicy with notes of clove as well as some yeasty sourness.
The taste has some of the clove noted in the smell but it's pushed into the background while other spices and a yeasty sweet and sour thingy take center stage. The finish is quite spicy and long lasting. Oh yeah, 7%abv eh? Well hidden!
Overall, I find the taste different from the Wits I've tried before and in this case, different=it's quite pleasing.
Bottom line: An easy drinking Witbier that must make the locals of this brewery very happy on a hot summer day. I recommend it.

Originally rated on12/17/2008. This poured a nice looking hazy yellow body with a mid sized white cap that disappeared quickly and didnt leave much lace. Aroma of coriander and wheat. Flavor was a little off for me because i drank it too cold so most of the flavors didnt come out even though i let it warm a bit. Flavors of coriander, wheat and some spices. Brewed for the winter, Southampton’s Double White is a bigger, heartier ale for colder weather. It almost drinks like a Weizenbock, yet it’s still light and refreshing. Lovely light yellow color with a head that sticks around. Doughy wheat, clove, coriander, pepper, and a subtle lemony brightness. Creamy smooth feel. T- Subtle white chocolate, coriander, spices.
P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, spiced finish.

Notes of banana, wheat, coriander, orange zest, hay, minerals, paper, and sweet dough. Medium-bodied, with moderate carbonation and a dry, sweet, yeasty mouthfeel. Lots of esters. UPDATED: SEP 26, 2015 Probably a few years old. Gold almost identical looking to Keller pils. Banana spice clove aroma bready and light sweet caramel malt. Taste is smooth bready malt. Carbonic citric bite. Some stale mineral offness. Harsh chinnok like bitter. Astringant finish. Spicey floral flavors. Defiantly pour with the yeast, not like the keller pils definatley don’t pour the yeast on that.
