Black pour, decent sized head. Lighter carbonation. Roasted malt, dark chocolate aroma and taste. Simple, if not somewhat muted. AdamT (268) - North Carolina, USA - MAR 16, 2015
12 oz bottle from The Beer Store Wilson. Black hue, zero visibility with mostly lasting light brown fizzy head. Virtually no lacing. Aroma of roasted malt and milk chocolate. Dark roasted malt taste up front with more of a roasted malt and chocolate finish. This had a dry finish. Overall I thought this was a really good beer. Bottle. Thanks ModeEngage! Clear dark reddish brown with a small, foamy tan head that lasts on the edges. Aromas of roasted and toasted malts, light vanilla, nuts and chocolate. Flavor is roasted malt, caramel, chocolate, light vanilla and toasted nuts. Medium bodied, smooth with a dry and bitter finish. Lingering roastiness. 12 oz bottle from Giant Eagle in Pittsburgh. As good as any of the premium porters out there in the more expensive market. Don’t miss this one.

Dark copper, clear, lasting head, sparse lacing.
Middle body, moderate flavor, silky texture, just enough alcohol heat.
Bittersweet, almost tart, balanced, bitter but not too dry a finish.
Mid roast flavors, bitter chocolate,
Pleasant if not exciting.

12 oz bottle (from notes) allowed to warm for about 15 minutes, then served in a snifter.
A: pours a deep, dark, clear mahogany but is opaque and nearly black in the snifter. The frothy light brown head is mostly short-lived but leaves some lacing.
Aroma: mild-to-moderate strength. Dark malt and fruits, especially prune and raisin, notes of dark sweet chocolate, hints of alcohol, a bit of burnt raisins, and a smidge of roasted black express beans. RussianDragon (578) - - JUN 4, 2014
On tap at Capone’s. Served by Matt Capone himself! Pours a translucent clear dark brown with rich red hues when backlit. Head is off white, rocky, huge and lasting with thick lacing. Aroma is mild but full: roasted malt, cocoa, dark fruits, cherry, fig, and light gingerbread spice. Flavor is full and lingering on the palate: same as above with great carbonation that ties it all together. Haven’t had in years, was great to try again. hfmejias (1283) - Marshall, Minnesota, USA - MAY 18, 2014
12 Fl. Oz. Bottle. Poured in very dark (almost black) shade of brown, medium tan head and some spotty lacing on the glass. Aroma of chocolate, dark fruits and some roasted malts. Taste is consistent, some coffee and a very nice and balanced bitterness from hops is also there. Nice enjoyable beer. devman171 (1221) - Annapolis, Maryland, USA - MAY 15, 2014
