Very good porter. Very roasty and nice for the cooler weather. Well worth a try. beerbuzzmontreal (3487) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - JUL 12, 2005
RBSG 05 Dark brown color with a thin light brown head. Aroma of roasted malt and chocolate. Interesting flavor of roasted malt and chocolate. Dry and liquorous texture. CamdenD (1197) - Madrid, SPAIN - JUL 10, 2005
UPDATED: JUL 12, 2005 This drank aged well in the glass, aside from its dissapointing head-longevity: turned into a coke pretty quickly. Aside from that, this beer is all you would want from a porter, full and proven. Not sure, given the comparisons, if I prefer this over the Baltika, but it’s a steady battle. Nicely done. atpayne (615) - Zionsville, Indiana, USA - JUL 10, 2005
Thick black pour with decent size compact tan head. Aroma is roasted, sweet, and has a full presence. Flavors are roasted malts, with both sweetness and a hop kick that comes in at the end. It is a bit like a long Sunday drive where you see multiple sights. It goes from strong malts to sweet malts to a quick hop. There are also bits of vanilla and a woody finish. Nice complexity in the flavor and a decent thick finish. Thanks to hopdog on this one. Styles (2014) - Lincoln Park, Michigan, USA - JUL 7, 2005
Courtesy of Pailhead. Dark brown with mahogany highlights. Decent beige head, fades to ring of bubbles. Chocolate and coffee aroma is very muted. Lots of dark roasted grain in the flavor, roasted coffee in the finish.

Pours thick and syrupy with very little head. Very dark brown with a red hue. Sweet, smokey aroma with tar, leather, yeast. Silky and somewhat still on the palate. A little chalky and tart with a mild burnt grain and sweet, well balanced finish. Well made. NVBeer232 (467) - Reno, Nevada, USA - JUL 1, 2005
(A hearty thanks to Wohlfs for sharing this with me at Kuhnhenn) Dark pour with hints of red on the edges. Dense tan head. Big fat blast of chocolate and dark fruit in the nose with a light roasty note underneath. Rich and silky. Big malty body...almost chewy. Lots of dark malts and some plummy/raisin flavors. Finishes with a light touch of earthy roast. Very nice Baltic porter. Thanks again, Steve! pineypower (3330) - Ocean County, New Jersey, USA - JUN 27, 2005
Thanks to Jeff for this one....Pours out a dark brown color with a tiny carbonated head that diminishes shortly. The aroma is roasty with notes of fruit. The beer is much thinner than expected. The taste is pretty complex, with roasted malts dominating, backed up with some notes of fruit and figs. pivo (2685) - GERMANY - JUN 27, 2005
Roasted nose, black color, clinging head. Toasted malt, chocolate tones, coffee bitter finish. A hint of smoke peeks through too. Medium body. Really a fine fine porter. zach8270 (4022) - Henrietta, New York, USA - JUN 27, 2005
UPDATED: DEC 12, 2008 [bottle - 22 oz] Dark black pour with not much of a head or carbonation. The aroma had lots of fruit and alcohol in it. Very alcoholy for a porter. Was not expecting as much fruit and not a lot of malt either. The taste is slightly dry with flavors of dark fruits, alcohol and some pine. Underneath it all, there is a hint of corn and grass reminiscent of Keystone Light. Very thin and watery. Maybe I caught a bad bottle, but I was not that big a fan.
