On tap at the Publick House. Light golden color and yeasty aroma. Great balance, one of the best Octoberfest beers I’ve ever had. notalush (5874) - Denver, Colorado, USA - OCT 11, 2003
This is an outstanding octoberfest - very rich, huge malt character, almost bock-ish - subtle fruitiness, I swear I can taste strawberries in this one - long, lingering sweetness on the palate - southampton has made me love a beer in a style I don't care for that much, which is quite hard to do. apoptosis (1317) - Denver, Colorado, USA - OCT 11, 2003
Very nice Octoberfest - smooth and just the perfect hint of sweetness to it. Beautiful pumpkin color, and aroma of vanilla and caramel. Not too malty. thenick (766) - North Bellmore, New York, USA - OCT 7, 2007
Tap @ SPH. Pours a beautiful deep orange with a small white head. Aroma is vanilla, malt, and hops. Taste is largely the same, with vanilla up front dissolving to a wonderful malt characteristic and an ever so subtle hop bitterness at the end. I love Oktoberfest beers, and this is one of my favorites. beastiefan2k (3979) - HdG (past: NYC, KS, Rain City), Maryland, USA - OCT 3, 2006
I am not a big Octoberfest fan but this is rather nice. Tap at the Publick house. clear orange body with visible carbonation. Cann see through it. Small head turns into nice lacing. Aroma is very present - a spiced lager aroma. I also get a slight toasty flavor in the aroma. Rather sweet as well.

On tap at HDG. Dark gold with a small head and a sweet grain aroma to go with a bit of fresh hops. Flavor is pretty damn tasty and not as sweet as most beers in this style I’ve had. A bit of cut grass makes it pretty drinkable. MullMan (1099) - Brooklyn, New York, USA - OCT 6, 2006
on tap at the publick house. clear light copper color, light tan head. honeyish grassy aroma. flavor is a little bitter, dry, with a bit of biscuity malt sweetness. finish is tangy, bitter, and a little sweet. goldtwins (4320) - Nesconset, New York, USA - SEP 30, 2007
Tap @ the Publick House. Poured a clear deep copper color with a thin off-white head. Malty caramel and toasty aroma. Some earthy hop. The flavor is malty with some sweetness. Semi-dry with a mild bitterness and a little spicy. Light-medium body. Dickinsonbeer (5074) - Hoboken, New Jersey, USA - SEP 29, 2007
Pours a medium amber, mostly clear, thin diminishing head to nothing after a while. Aroma is deep sharp caramel malts and toffee with some brown sugar- light herbal hops. Flavor is also deep stewed caramel malts, perhaps lots of dark munich malts, but that rich bready toastiness doesnt come out like Ramstein or Triumph. Ok mouthfeela dn smooth finish. This was right about on par with SA o-fest. Average. beerbill (3618) - Laurel, New York, USA - SEP 29, 2007
On tap at SPH during their Octoberfest party 9/28/2007. Arrived at the table a clear amber with a thin off-white head that faded to a film after two sips. Light aroma of malt. The flavor is light sweet malt with a bit of hops bitterness at the finish. Not as malty as I would expect for the style and a bit less full-bodied as well.
