Poured into a becher pint glass, the appearance was a dark brown color with a foamy eggshell white colored head. Nice speckled lace.
The aroma had some caramel and roasted malts, touch of sugar.
The flavor was basically the same with some burnt toast to it. Sweet malty to almost sugary aftertaste. Quick sweet finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionability about it. Low carbonation. Pretty smooth along my tongue. ABV felt appropriate.
Overall, I can see it as suggested by the brewer, but did it really come together as expected? In my opinion, not as much. It wasn’t bad, it just seemed to lean sweeter than I had hoped for. Ed5388 (3448) - Forked River, New Jersey, USA - FEB 18, 2014
Sampled at Big Brew Beer Festival (Morristown). Poured a dark brown color with a foamy khaki colored head. Aroma or caramel and roasted malts. Taste was the same, with a bit of burnt toast in the finish. mcmisko (358) - New York, USA - JAN 23, 2012
THis is a drinkable porter. I found it to have good balanced flavors, but it is a bit thin and the after taste is lacking. I could drink this, but I probably will not buy it again. mcox90 (2071) - Wilton, New Hampshire, USA - FEB 3, 2010
12 oz bottle. Pours dark brown with a 1/2" tan head. Minimal lace. Subtle chocolate and coffee aroma. Smooth, soft palate with little carbonation. Goes down like silk. Flavor is chocolate with roasted malt with a hint of coffee. Maybe a little hop in the finish. Nice, solid porter. keepersj12 (3112) - Sicklerville, New Jersey, USA - JAN 30, 2010
Sampled at High Street Grill Winter Beer Fest. Very nice porter to say the least. Pours black with a tan head. Full bodied with a nicely roasted malt, coffee flavor. Finishes very refreshing for the style. A pub I got to get to soon.

On tap at Rattle n Hum. Pretty tart for a porter, without much smoke or coffee flavor. Could this have been a little bit off? It was still a good pint. Imaena (2315) - Maputo, MOZAMBIQUE - JUN 14, 2008
Novare Res Portland ME. Draught. Decent but lacking in head retention. maybe its their lines? Decent porter but not earth shattering Veeks (65) - New York, New York, USA - FEB 2, 2008

Black with a long lasting sandy head. Smells of paint. Tastes like roasted chocolate and cough syrup. Didn’t enjoy this too much. Sampled on tap at Perly’s Bakery in Easton, PA. RblWthACoz (964) - Brooklyn, New York, USA - NOV 18, 2007
On-tap at the Publick House 8-07. Pours pitch black. Tan head. Malty nose with coffee tones. Flavor is heavy on coffee. Thick malts. Feel has a good carbonation and a nice thick liquid feel. Very drinkable. A nice hearty and robust brew. Well worth a try and pretty damn good as well.
