Poured a hazy yellow color with a very large white head. The aroma was yeasty and dusty with some spice and fruitiness. Fruity flavor of pear and citrus with some more yeasty spices on the finish. Lively mouthfeel and a dry finish. Suttree (6415) - Knoxville, Tennessee, USA - NOV 27, 2006
Cloudy Orange brown, with a huge, rocky white head. Herbal, grassy aroma - very bread, even a little corny, as well. Flavor is earthy, grassy, and herbal - oregano, perhaps? Nice earthy, dirty texture throughout. Winey notes as it warms. Really good right now, I need to get some more to see how it ages. Thanks, Secret Santa! Bottles courtesy of hopdog. Cloudy golden yellow with huge soapy/frothy head. Great lacing. Yeasty bread up front, slight farmhouse funk going on. Very floral with plenty of light citrus, mostly lemon in the background. Flavor is all over the place. Yeasty sourdough bread, lemon, grass, flower petals, slighty sweet pale malts, faint hop bitters near the finish. Creamy smooth mouthfeel, just the right amount of carbonation. Finishes very dry, leaving you begging for more. Very nice beer overall. jimmack (1223) - Nutley, New Jersey, USA - NOV 23, 2006
750ml. bottle. Cloudy golden color with a large soapy white head. Funky, yeasty aroma with some floral notes and a bit of citrus. Starts off mildly sweet, with lots of yeasty spiciness. Dries quickly, with some apricot, citrus, black pepper and a very aggressive carbonation. I really love Southampton’s Saisons. Rballs01 (282) - Madison, New Jersey, USA - NOV 22, 2006
Amazing creation of a Saison style beer. Afterall the brewer is known for his books of Saison beers. He obviously knows what he’s doing. Lots of frothy bubbles created the head. Major carbonation filled the glass keeping it alive. Smelled of begian yeast and citrus fruits. Light on the mouthfeel and very refrehing. Pleasant spices linger on the aftertaste. One of the best American Saisons made.

Large fluffy off-white head of fine bubbles. Reduces to a wavy, dense 1/4 thick foam. Tons of carbonation. Spicey, yeasty, grassy, typical saison aroma. Color is a medium golden orange. Clean and very smooth taste. Little fizzy palate. Light malts and a hint of alcohol. More spices and light lemon. This is some very tasty stuff. Dry and slightly bitter. Creamy butter in the flavor. Dry and lingering bitter finish. Darn, this is a very tasty stuff. A little on the expensive side but worth it once in a while. thornecb (5947) - Marblehead, Massachusetts, USA - NOV 20, 2006
UPDATED: NOV 21, 2006 Pours bright gold into a tulip. Fluffy bright white micro head top hats above the rim. Spicy honey and caramel aromas. Heavily carbonated sweet honey with a lasting alcohol finish. I’d be interested in seeing how this ages and mellows - but not enough to pay another $12.99. pineypower (3344) - Ocean County, New Jersey, USA - NOV 19, 2006
Found this gem in my local beer store which was a shock, but was I surprised. Pours out a cloudy golden color with a small lively white head. Aroma is of some yeast and some spice. Nice mouthfeel taste is complex and a bit refreshing. Notes of vanilla, orange peel, lemon and some yeasty notes. Finish was of some dry spices with a very slight alcohol burn. Excellent beer in a style I’m starting to like more and more. anders37 (26678) - Malmö, SWEDEN - NOV 19, 2006
Bottle. Pours a hazy golden colour with a small white head. Malty yeasty spicy aroma. Dry malty yeasty flavor with some spicy hints. Dry malty yeasty finish with a long bitter aftertaste. A nice saison. ehhdayton (1188) - USA - NOV 16, 2006
Pours a deep yellowish-golden with a fully lasting, fluffy, three-fingered white head. The aorma is spicey. Flavor has a slight sour touch but is overall spicey with light hopish bitterness and a bit of fruit and malt.
