sampled from a 750 at brewtopia 10/21/06. This may be the best saison I have had. Hazy golden with a big off white head. Aroma is spicy, peppery, bready, earthy and tangy citrus. Taste is tart citrus, earthy yeast, peppery, with a long, dry lightly bitter finish. awesome beer. FlacoAlto (4228) - Tucson, Arizona, USA - DEC 9, 2006
Dammit! I hate it when I am told that I am too verbose. Sometimes I just can’t help it, the beer is just too damn good.swoopjones (7020) - Buffalo, New York, USA - JUL 14, 2007

750ml. Really liked this. One of the best yet. Cloudy, huge white head loaded with tiny bubbles. Spicy & delicious beachbum25 (1092) - Powellville, Maryland, USA - MAY 10, 2008
750 ML Bottle-Cloudy golden color w/a huge white head & good lacing. Sweet, doughy aroma of a classic Belgian. Flavors of yeast, bread dough, colander, citrus, banana, & apple. Very smooth, easy drinking brew w/a dry, spicy finsh; just the right bitter bite to it. Rich, full mouthfeel. Great spring/summer brew; very refreshing & very enjoyable. Aroma of hoppy bitterness and citrus. Pours a more yellow amber haze. Beer is lively. Medium sized head. Some lacing. Light on the tongue but somehow medium to full bodied. Creamy up front with a slight sweetness that enhances before turning bitter. Perfect timing on the finish. The flavor hits you and then completely pulls away. This is an excellent beer. And I usually do not enjoy the citrus beers as much.

750 ml bottle into tulip glass, best before 11/13/2014. Pours lightly cloudy golden amber color with a big 3 finger fairly dense and fluffy white head with insane retention, that reduces to a thick cap that lasts. Dense foamy lacing clings on the glass, with tons of streaming carbonation retaining the head. Beautiful looking brew. Aromas of big lemon zest, pear, apple, pepper, clove, wheat, bread, floral, grass, herbal, light funk, and earthy yeast spices. Damn nice aromas with good balance and complexity of fruity/spicy yeast esters with some light malt. Taste of lemon zest, pear, apple, pepper, clove, wheat, bread, floral, grass, herbal, light funk, and yeast earthiness. Lingering notes of citrus, light fruit, pepper, clove, wheat, floral, grass, herbal, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Fantastic balance and complexity of fruity/spicy yeast esters with a light-moderate malt balance; and zero cloying flavors present after the finish. High carbonation and medium bodied; with a very smooth, crisp, and fairly prickly mouthfeel that is great. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a slight warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is an absolutely incredible saison style. Fantastic balance and compelxity of fruity/spicy yeast ester flavors; and extremely smooth and crisp to sip on. One of the best Saisons I have had. cking (1175) - North Canton, Ohio, USA - NOV 4, 2007
750 ml I picked up for half of the regular price. Hazy in the bottle with a thick layer of yeast in the bottom. Uncorked and poured slowly into my glass. Bright cloudy golden-orange in color with a billowing huge white head and thick lacing. A bountiful aroma of fruity yeast, musty with a nice funk. Light and tingly on the palate. It’s tangy with a mild sourness, rather balanced and refreshing. Lots of wonderful flavors, the most I’ve been able to detect in a Saison. Oranges and peaches over an earthy malt base. Musty yeast and spicy hops. Tart enough to intrigue me, but not too much. Well done, I thoroughly enjoyed this bottle. hoosiers1994 (685) - Maryland, USA - JUN 3, 2011
750 bottle into a tulip. Aromas are lemon, coriander, bread, and some fruit. Pours a cloudy medium yellow with a thick white pillowy head with large bubbles. A beautiful beer for sure. Tastes are sweet bready yeasts up front, with hops on the back end. The spice is there but not dominant, and there is a boozy note that is surprising. Body is light to medium and the carbonation is high, perhaps a little over the top on that note. Overall, this is a very good and interesting saison, great for a summer evening. czar (9610) - Québec, Quebec, CANADA - JUL 3, 2011
drank at mondial 2011 in mtl. pours bright golden, slight haze, with a towering white head, excellent retention and lacing. aroma is apple, yeast, pear, lemony. taste is honeyed malts, lemon tartness, alcohol, hint of caramel malts (shockingly with this pale blond), oaky, medium citrusy hopping, and some herbalness. very lively, microbubbly, foamy, liquid is still somewhat light bodied. Great saison. Nice sweetness and carbonation, feels heavier than most saisons. Not too funky.
