Draft at brewer. A deep ruby red pour with a thin off white head. Scent of brown sugar and citrus. Taste is sweet with citrus notes.

Zeswaft (1786) - Seattle, Washington, USA - DEC 12, 2015
Mega caramel and nutty aroma. Flavor has a surprising hop flavor that gets washed away by caramel malt. Not too bad.

beerbill (3619) - Laurel, New York, USA - AUG 15, 2011
On draught at the brewpub. Arrived at the table a lightly hazed reddish brown with a thin-moderate off-white head that lasted through the first two sips and left light lace. Pleasant aroma of malt and not much else. The flavor is malt followed by some mild hops bitterness. Light-medium bodied. Straightforward beer, no problems.

Foxbush (2143) - Richmond, Virginia, USA - JUN 26, 2011
This was tasted at the brewery ion Charleston. It had soured and was not very good. Deep amber color, no lacing but a vinegar like tatse.

LetsGoState (914) - Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 27, 2010
Not exactly what I had expected, but still a decent ale with good malt flavor.

DrinkEmUpJones (1069) - Georgia, USA - JUN 2, 2010
Red-amber in color. Medium aromas of liqueur like a cheap cherry brandy. Palate confirms. Medium-bodied with a weird saccharin sweetness/candied palate and a medium finish.

smcolw (617) - Boston, Massachusetts, USA - DEC 27, 2009
No head and only a couple spots of lace. The beer has a cherry color and is nearly clear. The nose and taste tips to the malt side--some nuttiness nearly no hop (except in the swallow and aftertaste, but even there, it is muted.) The body is spot on with a below average carbonation, which makes it seem very smooth. Overall, an easy beer to quaff, but it won’t bring home any medals.

brewski519 (644) - Morrisville, North Carolina, USA - JUN 23, 2009
Tasted at the Southend Brewery & Smokehouse - another disappointing beer. This one was the best of the bunch though. They still call it the Scarlet Ale at the Brewery. Poured a reddish color with little head. Faint aroma of caramel, malt with a taste of mild hops, malt and molasses?

cale422 (28) - Timmonsville, South Carolina, USA - JUN 6, 2008
Good clear red amber color, sweet malt nose and slight hop aroma. very smooth with plantey of malt flavor and a slight bitterness from hops and may be from the dark malt. Good clean finish

gonzo46and2 (108) - Tampa, Florida, USA - MAY 12, 2008
Utterly disappointed with every beer this place had. Got on tap on a sampler paddle. No nose, no taste, looked nice. Maybe it’s better poured in the eyes than the mouth.
