Pale gold beer, white head.
Hop dominant aroma - pine, citrus rind, leafy spice, hint of tropical with toasty malt.
Good persistence to it, medium weight, excellent balance.
Hops deliver grassy, leafy, piney, slightly citrusy & tropical hop notes in decent measure, enough toasty malt to oversee proceedings with a moderate-high bitterness.

As Southern Ocean Pale Ale.
Clear golden color, white head with lacing. Malty, hoppy, citrus scent. Bitter, hoppy, fresh taste. Pith, resin aftertaste. Medium mouthfeel, medium bitterness.
Bottle from Plonk (Dec 2013). Hazy dark golden, minimal white head, tangy grapefruit, sweet caramel malt, piney/resiney hop bitterness, nice smooth texture, medium body, medium bitterness, long finish. Quite good. Brenhophead (695) - Perth, AUSTRALIA - APR 12, 2014

Golden hazy colour. Very low carbonation and a head that dissipates quickly. Some nice aromatic notes of cantaloupe and pine, however not followed through in the flavour. Not enough of a hop hit for an APA

Bottle from penny blue. Solid pale ale very honey and malt driven. Nice grassy hop bitterness. Good quaffer

Produces up a misty deep orange with no visible carbonation and a thin layer of suds. Dusty, pinewood and tree-sap, and caramel on the nose with a mousy, barnyard note and subtle hints of guava and grapefruit. Buttery, diacetyl tainted palate. Really hard to get past. I suppose there is ample fruit esters also, musty overripe guava and cantaloupe, not the best. Body is light with a medial spritz of carbonation and finish laced with dried grassy herbs. Softly bitter and short, dry. Just can’t shake the buttery taste and feel though. Not in fine form to be fair - and this, I’m assured, is a fresh batch. Ugh, re-rate pile! Poured from bottle at room temperature, poured murky with plenty of yeast suspended. Not the greatest looking beer but makes up for the lack of aesthetic with a lovely nose full of mangoes. From bottle but poured into a glass because of the chunky sediment, like really chunky.
Murky amber colour with huge, frothy head, dissapating quickly. Fruity hop aroma. Soft malt backbone but the flavour is mainly citrus hop. Pine/grapefruit bitterness fading out in the aftertaste. Quite enjoyable.
