Simply put this is God’s nectar.
A delicious, mellow golden blend subtly combining a noble hop taste with a smooth yet aromatic finish.
The origins of the brew is also legendary originating from the Maori God Tawhikiwhiki. He created the blend when attempting to rid the nation of evil. Once all evil was smashed on the concoction, life was fantastic in the Land of the Long White Cloud.
A great night starter, a great night finisher, a great pick up line; pure and simple a brew for all ages. TypicalScarfie (1) - NEW ZEALAND - OCT 7, 2010 does not count
upon opening the aroma almost smells like week old dog crap, and im sure those who drink it agree. As for everything else you get what you pay for and since its the cheapest beer in Dunedin ($1 a can) it is also an unofficial currency among the wider student population. Overall its like Gods piss, yellow, foul, and boring but its cheep beerledgend (1196) - Waterloo, Wellington, NEW ZEALAND - MAR 17, 2010
Clear bright orange colour with no head. Big malty flavour. Mass produced swell. DuffMan (10421) - the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, CANADA - AUG 24, 2009
Can. Pours a clear golden with a medium white cap. Slightly sweet grainy aroma and flavour. Clean and simple, nothing offensive. Considering the price, it certainly beats many of its peers in the macro pale lager department. Having said that, I’m not certain this is even "macro" in nature. Nowhere on my can is there an address, logo, or trademark of any kind. I’ll have to dig a little deeper to see if it really is made by DB. It doesn’t aste lke it!

Tastes like somebody put a cigarette out in almost every can. Cheap as hell though so if you and the missus can’t afford Double Brown pick up a few of these babies. Best drunk from a tube. donfardz64 (538) - Wellington, New Zealand, NEW ZEALAND - MAR 7, 2009
Grainy aroma, some hint of citrus if I really get imaginative. Crisp flavour, leaves a metallic taste but otherwise no complaints for how much I paid. This one costs about $1 a can, and tastes better than most popular NZ lagers (Tui, Speights etc). And it doesn’t claim to be an IPA. sdriessen (320) - Dunedin, NEW ZEALAND - JAN 31, 2009
Cheap, easy drinking. No point in describing an aroma.. This one is the first choice among students in Dunedin.
Personally, I have nothing to complain about. This beer does not lie - it is an extremely simple brew, solely made for the purpose of having a good time whilst sticking to a budget. Not a lager for the discerning palate. Extra points for it’s brutal honesty! CapnStabbin (14) - Wellington, NEW ZEALAND - AUG 5, 2008
One of the better cheap beers available in NZ. It tastes slightly better than Southern Draught.
