Near black. Grainy nose and flavor shows a little abv, which is weird for an 8.5%er. Dark fruit, roast malt and cocoa/anise. OK overall, lacking for an impy. jgb9348 (6478) - Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA - DEC 26, 2016
Deep dark brown coloured body with a thinnish, fast-dying brown head. Aroma of roasted malt, molasses, anise, licorice, alcohol and a bit of coffee. Full-bodied; Strong rich malt flavours with some cereal, alcohol, grain, oak, metal and a bit of earth noticeable. Aftertaste shows the anise and malt the strongest with some nice molasses and deep sugars right behind. Overall, a decent beer that absolutely isn’t anything special, but has some decent flavours and it’s body is okay. Nothing complex, but an average to below-average Imperial Stout, for sure. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Made in Oregon (PDX Terminal C) in Portland, Oregon on 05-May-2015 for US$5,25 sampled at home in Washington on Christmas Day, 25-December-2016. chinchill (5313) - South Carolina, USA - DEC 20, 2016
22 oz. 2014 bottle served in a goblet.
Pours clear dark reddish-brown; dark enough to look essentially black and opaque in the glass. Modest size head that is semi-durable and leaves little lacing.
Aroma: chocolate, spicy hops, molasses and dark roasted grains.
Flavor: simple but solid, with moderate strength and very good balance. Hop presence peaks mid-taste.
Feel: full body with well chosen, near medium carbonation. IndianaRed (5031) - Boise, Idaho, USA - JUN 26, 2015

Bottle. Pours a very dark brown color with a smallish light tan head on there. Nose has some strong roasting with a slight bit of caramel in there, and some subtler sour dark fruits to it. Taste is extremely roasty with some slight caramel/toasty sweetness to it underneath. Really very drinkable. harrymel (1551) - Spokane, Washington, USA - DEC 7, 2013
pours black coffee with short lived mocha foam which falls to a sheet of the same for a few dozen seconds. Nose is rich malts, oats, coffee, dark chocolate, some fig and graham. A slight note of rye bread. Flavor is a little less appreciable. Coffee, dry cocoa, graham, toasted grains and some dried figs. A little bit of licorice when cold, but as it warmed, this dissipated. Full bodied with moderate carb and a dry finish. Drinkable, but not something I will make a second purchase on.

On tap. Oddly sweet with very little roasted or chocolate malt flavor. Pretty heavy diacetyl gives it a slick oily mouthfeel. Not a good one

On draught at Bailey’s Taproom, bourbon barrel aged. Opaque dark brown color. Aroma is dark chocolate, oat, and bourbon. Taste is roasted and toasted grains, dark chocolate, and woodsy bourbon. Mouthfeel is a little watery considering the style. Finishes with some toastiness and alcohol. Shink (177) - Portland, Oregon, USA - APR 16, 2013
Out of a 22. Pours a dark black with a small tan head. Smell is slightly sweet and roasted. Taste is dry with a late sweet hint. Roasted malts linger on the tongue.
