On tap at Naked City, pours solid black with a small tan head. Aroma of chocolate, roasted malt, and oatmeal. Flavour of metallic-tinged roasted malt, subtle chocolate, roasted malt and toasted bread. Full-bodied, with an above-standard flavour profile for the style. Leaves something to be desired, but well-made and solid. bhensonb (15969) - Woodland, California, USA - APR 28, 2012
Bomber from Malt & Vine. Pours black with a creamy tan head. Aroma of smooth burnt malt and chocolate. Full bodied. Flavor is chocolate covering a smooth burnt malt backbone. Got some hop to cover the malt. Goes a bit ashy after a bit. Better than a lot of ISs. slowrunner77 (13206) - Reno, Nevada, USA - FEB 10, 2017
Near black. Grainy nose and flavor shows a little abv, which is weird for an 8.5%er. Dark fruit, roast malt and cocoa/anise. OK overall, lacking for an impy. after4ever (8025) - Mukilteo, Washington, USA - APR 6, 2013
22. Pours black with a dense and creamy tan head. Cardboardy oxidized nose, some roast and chocolate as well. Slick medium body. Soft carb. Chocolatey, cardboardy mid palate. Ughsmash (7502) - Pewaukee, Wisconsin, USA - FEB 7, 2013
Bomber. Poured medium-deep brown with a nice well-retained dark tan head. The aroma picked up sweet, roasty nutty and cocoa malts with accents of vanilla and a kiss of warm, dark fruit.. not terribly complex, but soft and well-balanced. The flavor found moderately-roasted black patent and blended chocolate malts with vanilla bean and complementary smoked malts around.. finished with a lot of grainy roast and a kiss of boozage. Medium-bodied and dry on the palate with a good overall feel and flow.. buttery smooth middle.. this was a solid drinker.

Black color with lasting tan sheen. dark pit fruit, dry chocolate, tobacco, black licorice aromas. medium body, average carbonation. sweet dark fruit flavors with dry chocolate, tobacco juice, black licorice--good 5000 (6900) - Hardened Liver, Washington, USA - JUL 8, 2012
Bottle:   Nearly black, cola hued, moderate frothy light beige head, little lacing.   Soft roast, some chocolate and carob aspects, some sweet cocoa too.   Seems like an Imperial Milk Stout, or Sweet Stout.   Hop bitterness comes out a bit on the backside, otherwise moderately malty, sweet, with cocoa and carob notes. &nbps Not a big Imperial Stout by any means.   Some of the recent Imperial Stouts I have had are so far out there in terms of body and aging, that this one seems somewhat ordinary.   Does come across as smooth, not too heavy, body and mouthfeel are moderate to full.   Seems to grow on me more and more, and at $4 for a 22oz bottle, seems very reasonable.   Cocoa, graham cracker, chocolate, roasted malts, and very pale hop bitterness on the exit.   Sweeter than most.   Very respectable, and on the sweeter chocolatey side. jgb9348 (6586) - Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA - DEC 26, 2016
Deep dark brown coloured body with a thinnish, fast-dying brown head. Aroma of roasted malt, molasses, anise, licorice, alcohol and a bit of coffee. Full-bodied; Strong rich malt flavours with some cereal, alcohol, grain, oak, metal and a bit of earth noticeable. Aftertaste shows the anise and malt the strongest with some nice molasses and deep sugars right behind. Overall, a decent beer that absolutely isn’t anything special, but has some decent flavours and it’s body is okay. Nothing complex, but an average to below-average Imperial Stout, for sure. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Made in Oregon (PDX Terminal C) in Portland, Oregon on 05-May-2015 for US$5,25 sampled at home in Washington on Christmas Day, 25-December-2016. Bottle courtesy of curly - Thanks! Black, with a brown head. Smells like prune and raisin mixed with coffee and espresso. Nice full, rich palate. Taste is a bit more coffee and chocolate oriented than the nose would indicate, mixed with some licorice and marshmallow. Dry, red wine-like finish. Dark brown in color, clear with a thin tan head. Nice chocolate and coffee aroma and flavors. Rich and thick this was a very tasty brew. Lots of richness and thick finish.
