COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
You hold in your hand a stout for stout lovers. Buried Hatchet is brewed with a large quantity of brown malt reminiscent of a traditional pre-Industrial Revolution malt profile. This stout is full of robust, roasted flavors which intermingle with a bittersweet creaminess that concludes to a perfect, warming finish.

On tap at Flying Saucer. Pours black with a nice tan head. Nose is of coffee and chocolate. Taste is of coffee, chocolate and some ash. Mouthfeel is medium. Chalky with a dry finish. This was very tasty. Wish I had time for another.

Thanks to Southern Star for the taste while this is still growing. This was a little young, but you could certainly see good things in the future. Strong smell of cocoa and some coffee. Smooth and rather light on the mouthfeel. Taste is of coffee with a bunch of cream and the alcohol is hidden very well. Good stout and will only be better when released.

KAggie97 (3529) - Ugly, Hot, and Humid Spring, Texas, USA - DEC 30, 2008
UPDATED: JUL 5, 2009 Tap at brewery. Pours a solid black with a nose of solid chocolate and a hint of sweet peat. Flavor is chocolate, sweet chocolate syrup, cocoa, and a hint of oak in the finish. Nice, full mouthfeel. This is 9 percent ABV? Tastes too smooth to be true! Great beer.
