Sampled from a 12 oz can this beer poured a dark golden-amber color with a large foamy orange-beige head that lingered and left a bit of lacing. The aroma was bitter with floral, piney and tropical hops and a bit of sugar. The flavor was tangy, bitter and sweetish with pine, floral hops and a boozy presence. Long finish with a growing boozy bite. Moderately full bodied. Solid. Ratman197 (14834) - Arvada, Colorado, USA - AUG 29, 2015
Can poured a hazy amber with a small lasting creamy amber head. Aromas of caramel, earthiness, pine and light grapefruit zest. Palate was medium bodied and smooth with a dry finish. Flavors of caramel, earthiness, pine and grapefruit zest with a smooth dry bitter lingering grapefruit zest finish. cheap (5858) - Beaver Valley, Beaver County, Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 28, 2015
Big foamy viscous pour from a can. Scary fuming head does not yield. Rude mouth coating liquid that ruins your palate. A shock in reality. So nasty it gives me the shivers. Smell is blunt volatile alky hop perfume kick in the olfactory. Simply awful to my lager loven buds. Perfectly on pine tar green grapefruit xxx rototilling rinds style. On nitro so the aroma is pretty low. Hoppy. Pours copper with a nice rich thick white head. Taste is pretty bitter but not awful. Some sweetness. Not much hop flavor. Thin bodied. Just a bummer. jsmanigold (127) - Texas, USA - JUL 25, 2015
Pours with a hazy gold color and medium white head and a slightly sweet fruity aroma. It has a sticky yet oily mouth feel. Malty sweet flavor with a little pine bitterness at the end. The hops and malt are well balanced. This is my favorite brew by Southern Star.

Tasted from can. Pours a hazy amber gold with thick white head. Aroma is fairly sweet. Caramel, toffee, biscuits and some pine. Taste is not very bitter. A little too much on the malty sweet side. Sticky mouthfeel. Flavors of pine, earthy notes, caramel, toffee, biscuit and a little tropical fruit. Overall an average double IPA.

12 oz. can. Pours a thick, gradually diminishing. ivory head, with extensive lacing, over a slightly hazy, amber (SRM 13) body....nose is light pine, slight resin, hints of pineapple from the hops, cereal, hints of toffee/caramel from the malts, balance to the hops......taste is slightly sweet with floral notes, light pine, resin, hints of pineapple, tropical fruits (peach, mango) moderate cereal, finishing with a lingering moderate hop bitterness......mouth feel, medium body, slightly sticky, alcohol warmth present, carbonation adds creaminess. This is a pleasant and quite typical I/DIPA. It is nicely balanced, slightly sweet, with hops mostly dominant in both aroma and flavor. Can. Poured clear copper color with an average frothy white head that was mostly lasting with excellent lacing. Moderate to heavy complex earthy hop aroma. Medium to full body with slick texture and soft carbonation. Medium to heavy smooth bittersweet flavor with a medium to heavy bittersweet finish of moderate to long duration. This is a solid beer and exceeded my expectations. alexsdad06 (10416) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - APR 13, 2015
12 oz. can from Dutch’s. Pours a clear orange amber color with a medium sized off white head. The aroma and flavor had resin and citrus hops, caramel malt, toasted bread, not overly bitter, as I continue drinking more tropical notes sneak in, sweeter, this could use more bittering hops IMO, decent.
