Bottle at home. Black pour. Aroma of light roast and chocolate. The flavor is similar, with an ashy bitter finish. Medium bodied with good lactose sweetness. Doesn’t stand out, lacks complexity. Beerman6686 (6607) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - FEB 11, 2013
This one poured a medium brown color with a beige head. Aroma was mainly milk chocolate, lgiht roast and caramel. Flavor was chocolately and caramel, very thin though with not much character. Countbeer (6592) - Best of E-Town mit 2 Brauhausen, NETHERLANDS - FEB 10, 2013
Medium sized tan light brown head, changes quick in a lacing on top of a black colore beer.
Aroma is mostly (toasted) malts and milk with hints of chocolate, coffee and cream.
The flavour is a creamy mix of autumnal leaves, malts, leaves, light toast, bitter (keeps growing), some milk, roasted malts which are pushed to the back and dominated by the milk and cream, some toasted herbs and a sprinkle of spices.
Aftertaste is bitter with some milk, malts, toast and herbs with a hint of chocolate.
Low carbo, soft creamy light spicy mouthfeel, medium body and a creamy texture.
Nice beer, nothing crazy, but good bitterness and drinks pretty easy. olsvammel (7225) - Örebro, SWEDEN - FEB 10, 2013
Bottle bought at Vinmonopolet in Vika. Smell of milk chocolate, fruits and black currant. Similar taste. Very nice. jjgmd (2162) - Coral Springs, Florida, USA - FEB 8, 2013
Pours a dark brown black color with a great mocha head. Nose is chocolate malt and sweet. Taste is sugary sweet, but not overly so, malty and drinks quite easily. Finish is sweet as well, and semi dry. Quaff Score 8 / 10,

Tap. Clear dark brown close to black with a small lacing light brown head. Aroma is hard roasted malt, lacto, figs, dates, toasted malt, dark chocolate. Taste is medium sweet and bitter. Medium body, oily texture, medium carbonation. Finish is medium sweet, light dry and medium bitter with roasted malt and dark lacto chocolate. ExpendableHero (924) - Florida, USA - FEB 3, 2013
Dark cola colored beer with a tan head. Aromas of roasted coffee and dark chocolate are powerful. Tastes of dark coffee notes, and dark chocolate. Not much more to it than that, but I really like how the chocolate flavors come out over the coffee. Sweet, chocolaty finish. Full bodied beer with an oily mouth feel. Very sweet, a bit cloying. Tasty, a good example of the style. Glouglouburp (6103) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - JAN 31, 2013
In short: A viscous sweet stout with some weird flavors. Meh.Bulk_Carrier (6065) - Vermont, USA - JAN 31, 2013
How: Bottle 12oz, consumed a month or two after purchase.
The look: Black body topped by a small tan head.
In long: Nose is hot-chocolate, some phenols, tar, black liquorice. Taste is rather sweet which is not surprising coming from Southern Tier. Sweet black liquorice, burnt cereals, molasses, hot chocolate, ink, worchestire sauce, salty soy sauce. Body is very viscous, more so than a 7.5% stout should be. More than just lactic notes, I thought this beer was in-your-face milky. This beer didn’t work for me, not something I need to drink again. Not bad per say, but a little 12oz was enough, just an excuse to add another rating to ratebeer. And our beloved ratebeer website may not be the best thing on the internet but it is not so bad either, what really saddens me the most about the internet is all the weird sick stuff you can find out there and how I’ll never have time to see it all.
It poured a beautiful dark brown leaving a spectacular spider-web spotty foamy lacing gracing the sides of the pint glass. A semi half-inch white head appeared and lasted for about a half minute before dieing into the body. The smell had the chocolate up front, almost somewhat of a chocolate cake, there’s a slight bready/cakey smell in there. The taste had the chocolate and a bit of of a smokey coffee taste backing that up. The palate was about a medium to almost heavy with nothing harsh on the tongue. Overall, I like this one. I would come back to this, very good. PackPride (112) - Raleigh, North Carolina, USA - JAN 28, 2013
Pours a nice dark color, with a slight white head to it that dissipates quickly. Smells of nice dark malts, dark roast, chocolate, and grain. Taste very good on the palate, And lasts quite a while with the flavor.
