12 oz bottle poured into a pint glass with an inch tall fizzy head. Picking up a dark bread note with some chocolate mixed in. Taste is smooth, sweetness with nice medium mouthfeel. Finishes a bit more bitter than expected, dark chocolate comes to mind. Well put together milk stout. jfb (6830) - GERMANY - DEC 22, 2012
(draught) pours a darkest clear ruby colour with a frothy brown head. aroma of straw, cold coffee, hazelnuts, dark chocolate and earth. flavour is caramel, toasted malts, espresso, hazelnuts, almonds and a light sweetness. medium-bodied with average carbonation. ben4321 (6772) - Hoboken, New Jersey, USA - DEC 21, 2012
Location: 12 oz bottle from Oak Tree, 12/21/12 tmongoose (2504) - Louisville, Kentucky, USA - DEC 19, 2012
Aroma: The nose has some caramel malts, chocolate, a milky sweetness, and some toffee notes
Appearance: Pours a dark brown color with a small light-brown colored head and some mild lace
Flavor: The taste is definitely on the sweet-side, though not cloyingly so, and it has a mildly bitter finish
Palate: The body is medium, with a smooth, clean feel, a soft-to-average carbonation, and a creamy finish
Overall, I think this one turned out very nicely. The old add about milk stouts in the description is hilarious, come get some nursing mothers and invalids! Anyway, as for the beer itself, they got some nice milky sweetness and creaminess out of the lactose. The 7.5% is extremely well hidden. All-in-all, this one works pretty well.
12oz bottle pours almost opaque black with frothy mocha colored head. The aroma of roasted malts, hints of coffee and chocolates. This is a medium bodied beer. The flavors are of roasted malts, chocolate and coffee with an underlying sweet base. Very good stout. Thought it would be sweeter but it is muted under the malt and chocolate flavors. cbkschubert (2901) - BFE, Arizona, USA - DEC 12, 2012

12 oz. bottle poured into a Southern Tier Brewing Company branded "imperial glass" (stemmed tulip), teorn88 (8066) - Rimini, ITALY - DEC 8, 2012
Pours a dark brown capped with a beige one and a half finger head. Average retention and noticeable splotchy lacing here and there. Pleasant roasted notes greet the nose, sweet bittersweet cocoa power as well. Opens with roasted malt some dark chocolate that transisitons to milk chocolate as the sweet lactose sugar joins in creating a semi-sweet chocolate milk notes. Finishes with mild roasted malts and some lingering cocoa. Medium bodied, smooth, some creaminess-moderate carbonation. One of the better readily available milk stouts available, very well-balanced, never overly sweet. Recommended.
On tap at CBC, London. it pours an opaquedark brown colour with a tanned head and very good lacing. Aroma of roast coffee, sweet chocolate and molasses. Taste of roast coffee, chocolate sweet caramel and floral hops. Medium/full body and light carbonation with velvety mouthfeel. realaledrinker (35) - Grosse Pointe Woods, Michigan, USA - DEC 7, 2012
UPDATED: DEC 9, 2012 Poured dark with a small and quickly disappearing head. Malty characteristics were more than one might expect. It is smooth and full on the palate but the sweetness hid most of the roasted character that was present in the aroma. Overall a pretty good beer but far from my favorite. Poured from 12oz bottle, light head, good stout aroma. Excellent malt character, clean finish. Itzjerm (3134) - Taft, Tennessee, USA - DEC 5, 2012
This is definilty a bitter milk stout. Stouts are usually a bit more smooth on the palate. Bitter doesnt mean sour... just bitter. Not bad. not great either. I can’t say I wouldn’t skip it again but not top of my list.
