Very pale indeed for an American double IPA, a distinct lack of crystal malt. Sadly they seem to have replaced it with Golden Wonder Ready Salted crisps. The hops have died somewhat although there is still a good amount of bitterness. Pleasant grassy notes too. Actually, I have to take my hat off to Southern Tier for making an IPA without going ott with the malt. Good fruity notes and generally acceptable but a little way off what I was hoping for from a brewery I generally really like.
First Snowfall of the Season tasting in Odense. Golden with a small white head. Citrus hoppy aroma, with lemon and orange peel, and a strong note of karamel and tea. Citrus hop flavour caramel and a tannic bitterness. 2X on the Caramel malt or on the hops? Dedollewaitor (16383) - Odense, DENMARK - NOV 26, 2010
Bottle @ Local Tasting, Nov 2010. Pours clear golden with a creamy egg white head. Sweet malty nose. Some perfumey hops. Sweet malty flavor with peach and citrus hops beneath. Too malty. Smooth . . Borresteijn (7491) - Zaandam, NETHERLANDS - NOV 25, 2010

Dark golden with a medium creamy white head. Nice fruity aroma, especially pineapple. A lot of hops but also malt to make a good balance. Nice bitterness. A good and fresh beer. Butters (4176) - Richmond, Virginia, USA - NOV 23, 2010
Hazy golden orange pour with fair light khaki head. Sweet clean citrusy, in some ways spicy, medium chewy body, with a clean finish. Lingering pleasant light bittereness. The hops are definitely used for flavoring as oppossed to bitterness, and thats a okay by me... Speedle (266) - Atlanta, Georgia, USA - NOV 22, 2010
straight from the bottle .... citrus aroma with some pine ... thick mouth feel ..... bitter up front and in the finish .... caramel malt shows up in the aftertaste ... good balance between the bitter citrus rind and pine with some malty sweetness egajdzis (6730) - Pennsburg, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 21, 2010
Amber color with a small, off white head that left nice lacing. Aroma of pine, citrus, resiny hops, caramel malts, and light alcohol. Taste of citrus, pine, grapefruit, sticky caramel malts, and a bitter finish with light alcohol as well.
