Not quite an imperial, but certainly not a standard India pale ale. Our double IPA is a hop lovers dream. Citrusy and clean with an incredible finish.

Nice golden pour with a small white head that doesn’t stick around and nice lacing. Citrus stands out on the smell for me. Obviously some hops, but I don’t pick up a lot of piney or earthy scents. Very smooth taste. The hops don’t seem to have that "punch you in the face" effect I’ve become so familiar with. A lot of citrus and more malts than I expected. Much more light and creamy on the palate than the smell or look would give away. Carbonation ties the drink together nicely.

On tap at the Map Room, Chicago. Very hazy golden, clingy white head. Beautiful tropical fruit and resin hop aroma. Flavour is very much hop-driven, grapefruit rind, conifer resin, nice bitter finish. Delicious.

Pours a clear Golden Straw color with a small frothy white head. Huge floral hops aroma, with some spice and sweetness, a hint of alcohol at the end. Taste is Grapefruit and sweet biscuity malts. Smoothes out nicely as it warms. Like so Many 2IPA’s out there, nothing different or amazing, but clearly a good one, I’ll have to get a "Big" bottle next time.

UPDATED: JUL 27, 2011 THIS IS ONE OF THOSE BEERS THAT I KEEP BUYING AND DRINKING WITHOUT REVIEWING, GOT IT AGAIN TONIGHT AND LUCKILY 3 BEERS IN I’M HERE WITH MY REVIEW, THIS ONE POURS A CLOUDY GOLDEN WITH A SWEET CHERRY CITRUS AROMA AND VIRTUALLY NO HEAD. PINEY SPRUCE AND CITRUS HOPS FLAVORS NICE AMOUNT OF SWEET AND BITTERNESS LIKE A GOOD IPA SHOULD HAVE ,DRY AND CLEAN NICE FINISH. I ALMOST WANT TO CHEW ON THIS BEER, ITS THAT GOOD. YET AFTER A MORE EXTENSIVE THOUGHT I DO HAVE TO SAY THAT THIS IS AN INFERIOR IMPERIAL IPA, NOT THAT ITS BAD JUST NOT TOP OF THE LINE FOR AN "IMPERIAL".

12 ounce bottle courtesy of phaleslu. Thanks! Pours a clear pale amber color with a medium frothy white head. Decent head retention and lacing. Aroma of spicy and earthy hops with some tropical fruit notes. The taste is tropical fruits, earthy notes and an herbal, floral finish. Some toffeeish malts peek through. Medium bodied.

12oz btl. Pours a nearly clear golden with a super frothy white head. Has a aroma of piney hop and citrus. Tastes is of big citrus and a crisp hop bitterness that last through the finish. A good sixer.

12oz. bottle. Fresh, leafy, citric hop aroma, full of grapefruit and pine with lighter notes of pale malt sweetness, tangerine and some faint herbal tinges. Light-medium golden amber color with a fine, lasting head. Flavor is very powerfully hopped from start to finish, absolutely dripping with hop resins and background honeyish malt sweetness, with a profound bitterness appearing early and fading to reveal a strongly fruity, citric hop character blending well with the more supportive malt profile. Mouthfeel is smoothly effervescent, oily and cleansing, body is medium-full. Quite a tasty example. This should serve to take the edge off your hop jones for a little while.

JFURYCAT (1078) - East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, USA - OCT 24, 2010
Solid citrus profile with some sweet carbonation to tickle the tongue but almost seems like garlic was added to secondary. There is this odd peppery flavor which kind of keeps this beer from reaching a height its heading towards.
