Not quite an imperial, but certainly not a standard India pale ale. Our double IPA is a hop lovers dream. Citrusy and clean with an incredible finish.

Thanks to poorhouse for the share. Pours clear gold with a pillowy white head. Nose is big malt for this color. Has a great citrus and pine character with a relatively light body. Flavor is Similar with a relatively light body for this beer. Very good.

Bottled. Poured clear medium-golden with a sticky cap of whitish head. The aroma picked up bright lemongrass and grapefruit notes over soft pale malts.. some biscuity character as it warmed up.. spicy.. decently put together, but not great. The flavor found some fruity meat and pale malts at the core.. dry, bitter pine and grapefruit bitterness around.. lesser-descript bitterness on the finish. Medium-bodied and dry on the palate.. grainy.. just an OK feel.

Bottle. Pours a slightly hazy straw yellow/golden with a white head. Decent lacing. Nice sweetish pine hop aroma with candy-like overtones. Flavour is sweetish and bitter pine hops. Pretty good at first, but soon an annoying alcohol note in the background tries to force its way through; and the bitterness becomes too insisting in an unpleasant way. I usually like lots of bitterness, but its doesnt really work here. Its not really bad, but its not great either. Bitter hop finish with a liquorice touch; same bitterness problem here. Overall pretty good aroma and flavour as such, but could/should be better well-balanced and the bitterness could do with an overhaul. 09.09.10.

UPDATED: JUL 20, 2011 Draught at lbaren, Kbenhavn, Denmark.
Slight hazy deep golden colour with small white head. Belgian yeast, apples, applesauce, berries and fruity hops in aroma. Flavour is much more bitter hoppy with apples and citrus.

Draught at the brewery.
Cloudy golden colour with small to average sized white head. Quite mild piney bitter hoppy aroma. Strong bitter hoppy flavour with pine, resin and fruity American hops. Full bitterness in aftertaste.

I had this after having the Grant Teton Lost Continent and I thought this was the lesser of the double IPAs. Lighter color, with less richness of flavor, and more unique but not altogether balanced aroma--hops but also sharper with some other notes. Finishes in a slightly ambivalent manner. Bottle.

12 oz. bottle (thanks Jon!), pours golden yellow with a medium white head. Aroma and flavour of pungent piney hops, some citrus and nice caramel malt backbone. Pretty much the in-between of the regular IPA and Un*Earthly.

Poured a light golden color. Aroma was of hops, citrus, and caramel. Flavor is pretty much the same with a nice and crisp hop presence. Leaves a nice hoppy bite. A good one from our friends in Lakewood.

Bottle. Bright clear golden yellow colour. with a minuscule white head. Aroma has a full caramel malt structure with a very fresh citrusy hop-profile, giving a trace of pineapple and grass. Taste is very dry with a quite substantial hoppy bitterness. Lots of grass and pineapple. Very refreshing and nicely complex. Medium body, low carbonation, slick, slightly oily texture. Not as heavy-duty as one would expect from an IIPA, but entirely enjoyable.

12oz bottle from 16th St Liquor in West Vancouver. Pours clear golden with white head. Aroma is loaded with dank hops and citrus, with a bit of pine. Flavours of bitter hops, pine, citrus, and some malt. Finishes bitter with a little malty sweetness. Very good IPA that falls only slightly short of the ST Unearthly IIPA. Labelling (name) is a tad confusing since this is being marketed as an IPA not an IIPA.

On tap at Back 40s final crab boil of the summer. I had this on cask which I can never resist although i honestly dont enjoy them as much as standard tap but i cant remember that until after. Tastes is only slightly hoppy and bitter. kinda watery for a DIPA. got some citrus and banana and grass but thats it.
