(12oz bottle thanks to Mora2000) clear pale yellow with long lasting white bubbles. Nose is funky, mango, pineapple and honey. Taste of bitter melon, cracker, juicy citrus, marshmallow, with a sweet palate linger of more juicy citrus fruits. Sammer (1119) - Plano, Texas, USA - AUG 15, 2010
Golden pour from bottle shared by Mora2000. Big hoppy aroma. Taste is peppery, with notes of pine needles and citrus. Finishes with a nice, not too big bite. Solid IPA and one I would drink again for sure. HomeBrewHawk (464) - De Soto, Kansas, USA - AUG 15, 2010
12oz. bottle served in a Duvel tulip. Poured a slightly hazy gold with two fingers of white head. Fragrant with citrus and piney hops. Also a fair amount of caramel malt in the aroma. Nice malt base with a good amount of hop bitterness. Not overly aggressive with the hops. Plenty of caramel malt to balance. Dry finish from hops, malt lingers a bit. Very drinkable despite the abv. Very fresh example. blutt59 (6564) - Dallas, Texas, USA - AUG 15, 2010
bottle, thanks to mora2000, clear yellow with nice aroma of sweet pineapples and piney, flavors of soft hop bitterness, tropical fruit with a bitter finish TroyNYC (31) - New York, New York, USA - AUG 14, 2010
Really nice. Poured super clear light amber with a thick white head. Not a huge aroma but nice fruity with a little malt. Leave a nice sticky feel on the tongue. Not as hoppy as I would expect. Reminds me a lot of Dales but with a more citrus but malty flavor with a good bit of alcohol bit at the finish. Might have poured it a little warm, but couldn’t wait to try it. BiG Z in LI.

UPDATED: OCT 8, 2010 Rerate #1 (3.1) : FAR BETTER EXPERIANCE THIS TIME, while I still found some strangeness and plastic notes on the nose they are not as apparent as before but still sort of weak assed. The taste is also vastly better, cleaner with more citric hop bite and refreshment this time around. Nice peppery finish and snappy booze, more DIPA and less flaws, YEAH! Still after drinking lots of IPA’s and DIPA’s today, this one is still very average but at least not the drain pour that was my first bottle.

Initial Rating (1.4) Bottle and served in my NB Worthy glass: Crystal clear golden hue with a small but lasting frothy white head and spotty lace. The aroma has characteristics of cat pee, plastic, eggs, rubbing alcohol, and band-aids, not good! So many aroma flaws... Dimethyl Sulfide, Chlorophenols, Yeast autolysis... I just pray this is simply a bad bottle since I have 5 more to go. Oh, I did find some tropical fruit and leafy hop esters along with pale pilsner and 2-row malt and a hint of black pepper. The taste... DAMN IT ANYWAY displays more flaws, sulfur, urine and medicinal overtones squash the hop and malt character into unhappy and unhoppy oblivion. This is a DIPA, my arse, lacks the required hop kick, hop spice goodness or hell for that matter balanced maltiness. The Schlafly American IPA I had less than an hour ago was more a DIPA than this. I think the finish is clean if I could only get past the bullshit. Yes, I am about to put another in the frig for a rerate... but at this moment I am holding out no hope.
Pours straw yellow with a smallish head. Aroma is grass and citrus. Medium in body with a good amount of carbonation. Flavor is hoppy without being over bearing. Citrus and earthy flavors abound with a slight malt character and a bitter finish. thebeertourist (5189) - Oslo, NORWAY - AUG 13, 2010
Bottle at Olympen. Go,den with a nice head. Fresh hop aroma with hints of bread. Good bready flavours and a well-balanced spicy hoppiness. Way to go. Nellie (349) - Dallas, Texas, USA - AUG 11, 2010
Mora2000 thanks. I mean....This one tastes great for an IPA. Probably one of the best I’ve had. That’s not saying much. Caramel flavors almost mask the fact that it is caked with hops. Can’t fool me, Southern Tier!!! SrSilliGose (3331) - pouring bus, New Brunswick, CANADA - AUG 10, 2010
UPDATED: SEP 28, 2010 Bottle. Golden orange pour. Bright. Creamy offwhite head. Poozy boozy bready caramel. Pine, spurce. A bit sweet, but better than expected.
