Interesting. Poured deep garnet with lacy head. Very "deep" in the mouth. Heavy tasting. Good but could not have more then one. fraynoyes (5) - Astoria, USA - NOV 15, 2014 does not count
It’s no pumking! Smells good, but tastes too much like liquid potpourri. Alcohol is smooth, though. Would not recommend. Bricks (1126) - Delaware, USA - NOV 14, 2014
UPDATED: JAN 9, 2015 Dark brown, nice head. Aroma is STRONG of spices and potpourri. Taste is OK, Palate.... not the greatest. TattooJack (518) - Illinois, USA - NOV 11, 2014
Poured from the bottle of a six pack to the pint glass. Pours a nice red-brown, the spices in this are over the top different. Southern Tier does the strong stuff well, and the specialty stuff too! On the first cold day this gets one very warm very fast, I almost wish there was some snow outside to go shovel, ALMOST! Beergeek23322 (2602) - Chester, Virginia, USA - NOV 11, 2014
11/11/2014. Dark brown with a tan head. Seasonal spicy aromas. Sweet, spicy with a bit of hops at the end. Very nice for the holidays, but one is plenty.

Poured from a bottle it is a medium dark brown with small tan head. Taste and aroma is spice and fruit. Full bodied with malty base and hops in the background. Thick and stout enough that you probably don’t want more than a couple but a nice beer for a chilly evening. outlawskies (480) - Ohio, USA - OCT 12, 2014
Nice Xmas well balanced. Julie gives it 3.3. B.

From a bottle poured a brown color with a small amount of head. Sweet spicy flavor with a lingering aftertaste. mrjaxson (587) - .08 Junction, Wisconsin, USA - SEP 5, 2014
Decades ago, a lovely friend in Batavia, IL, hosted a Christmas party at which she served glögg that had been simmering on the stove all day. It was wonderful and dangerous at the same time (and had an alcohol content a fair amount north of the 8% of 2XMAS). This brew compares nicely to her concoction--heavy on the spices and generally sweet and full bodied. Perhaps I should try simmering 2XMAS come December. Darkmagus82 (2302) - - AUG 15, 2014

Poured from bottle into pint glass
Appearance – Pours a red mahogany colored brew with a two finger off white head. The head fades relatively quickly to leave a moderate level of lacing.
Smell – The aroma is not too potent and consists of a cinnamon, nutmeg and clove spice mixed with a roasted malt.
Taste – The taste begins with a roasted malt flavor and a sugar brown sugar taste mixed with a dark cherry and fig flavor. In the middle some spice flavors start coming to the tongue while the brown sugar and roasted malt flavors start to dwindle a bit. While the roasted malt and the sugar flavors dwindle, the end of the flavor sees an increase in the sweet cherry and fig flavors mixed with some and is joined by a light alcohol burn and some more spice of nutmeg , clove, and cinnamon.
Mouthfeel – The body of the brew is on the just above average side in terms of creaminess and thickness with a carbonation level that is just below average. The creamier body is good for enhancing the sweet fruit, boozy and spice flavors of the brew as they can really be fully sensed by the tongue.
Overall –The end of the flavor profile leaves a nice spiced flavor on the tongue which mixes quite well with the fruit flavors of the brew and the warming feel of the alcohol. Overall a warming, but drinkable brew with a good sweeter spiced flavor.
