12oz bottle. Strong spice aroma up front. I wish there was a bit more hearty malt to balance it out, its pretty much all spice here. Cinnamon, nutmeg, and etc. Bitter taste, with a strong spice bite. Some honey, orange peel. Dark, clear red color, minimal khaki head. Only a couple loose dots of lace. Dry texture, medium body, lighter carbonation. It does get better as it sits and warms though

Bottle shared by bhensonb. Pours orange brown worh a transient beige head and a mixed spice aroma. There is a hearty caramel malt flavor with some bitter spicing. Bitter finish sticks to the palate.

[7455-20150804] Bottle. Fragrant allspice cake aroma. Clear, red amber body with a medium-lasting creamy tan head. Boozy cake spice and toasted green leaf hops flavour. Medium-full body. Interesting. (8/3/7/3/14) 3.5

Bottle to snifter. Looks solid; amber with light beige lacing. Smells of sweet malt and spices. Tastes like it smells with an average mouthfeel. Alright.

Clear dark woodsy amber. Nose is robustly spiceful with some coriander, cinnamon, chai, tea, lemon zest, and curry powder. Weird intrinsic aroma. The taste is warm and spicy with big earthy malt undertones, built upon by chai spice and something like nutmeg and cinnamon, rustic caramel, and ginger. All over the place.

Smells pretty decent. A big improvement from the Great Lakes Christmas I had earlier. Aromas of ginger and lots of clove. Pours red clear with a little lacing. Palate is watery but spices are well integrated. Taste isnt overly sweet. Works well. On tap at Blue Monk.

11/12/12. 12oz bottle from Grassroots. Clear brown/red pour with a small khaki head that fades to a ring and doesnt lace much. Big sweet, spiced aroma with brown sugar, molasses, and brown sugar... it reminds me of cookies or cake or something. Sweet, spiced flavor as well, again with fruitiness, but mostly spice... again reminding me of cake or something. Im torn. This is a little weird and a bit too "holiday" for me, and yet, Im kinda digging it. Not bad!

Bottle at clockworks Dec 8th, 2012 tasting. Pours a deep amber body with no head. Aroma is spice, nutmeg and faint cinnamon. Mouthfeel is light with the cinnamon coming through a bit more in addition to flavors of nutmeg, sweet malt, and light cocoa.

Draft at sb. Pours a murky dark amber with a dense and creamy tan head. Big candied ginger nose, very much like a cascade dish soap. With sheeting action. Creamy medium body lively carb. Ginger, molasses, and dish detergent mid palate. Long molasses ginger finish.
