Bottle. The smell is soapy, fruits, prune, and apple pie. The look is clear, a beige colored head, and red brick colored. The taste is fruits, apples, spice, and sugary.

Rated on 02-16-2016 (Bottle) The appearance is a small creamy, smooth beige head with a long retention, amber transparent body, very fizzy carbonation, and spotty lacing. The aroma presents spicy, cinnamon, semi-sweet, caramel malt, and some nutmeg. The flavor is very spicy, ginger, some alcohol, caramel malt, sweet, and some dark fruit. The mouthfeel is light carbonation and this beer is medium bodied. A very quaffable beer that is quite spicy tasting which was a bit too much for my liking. It is a beer worth trying.

12oz bottle from ABC on Apalachee. Brown pour, off-white head. Aroma is cinnamon spices, dark fruit. Tastes are strong spices - cardamom, clove, cinnamon. Also caramel and dark bread. I would have thought that the strong spices would have put me off, but I like this in comparison to other xmas brews. Its not too sweet.

On tap at Yardhouse. Deep red-brown with a head that soon reduced to a ring. Minimal lacing. Both the aroma and the flavor reflect a heavy use of nutmeg. There are some other spices in here too, but the overall spicing level is just too high, largely masking the malts.

Bottle from Total Wine Sterling. Pours brown with a thin khaki head. Doesnt leave much lacing. Smells like Christmas cheer. Its like mistletoe and bakers spices on the tongue. Finishes clean. Hides the alcohol well. This ones pretty damn good.

The aroma is very spicy and fruity with all the smells of the season. There is also caramel and pine hops. The appearance is amber with a medium head. The taste is like the aroma. The palate is smooth. Overall a great example of the Christmas/winter/holiday style but a bit to astringent for me.

Pours an opaque brown from the bottle with dissipating, frothy tan head and light lacing. Aroma of spice, pine, and roasted malt. Taste follows, complex but not overwhelming. Goes down very smooth, with hints of cinnamon and dark chocolate and fruits on the back end. Much better than I was expecting.
